iodine/estrogen issues

Hi all,I Haven't posted in awhile because my health has been improving, which has allowed me to expand my life a bit and do less health research! I've been taking Iodoral for about 2 years now and have had positive results... (I've done many other things as well but I know the iodine is a huge factor in my improvement).A question I have right now is about weight and estrogen issues. Though I am still a bit hypothyroid (however my T3/T4 hormones are increasing on iodine alone, even without getting on Armour), for the last year on iodine, I've lost too much weight. I wasn't overweight to begin with, and now I'm almost too skinny (this is awesome news for people who want to lose weight, but note that for me when I was in the beginning stages of detox from iodine, I gained at least 10 lbs for a few months, but now I've never been so skinny in my life so hang in there because it does work!!). I'm especially unhappy with losing about 2 cup sizes in my chest. I'm guessing this is because iodine clears estrogen and cysts in the breasts - so mine are probably healthier now but not nearly as full or firm :( Has anyone had a problem with their estrogen becoming too low while being on iodine? I'm only 33 but since being on iodine I've had some other low estrogen symptoms also such as delayed ovulation and night sweats at certain times during my cycle... When I reduce my iodine dosage I don't have the night sweats. But in general I don't like reducing my dosage because I feel better at a higher dosage - so not sure what to do...Feedback?? Thanks so much,Marlena

I wonder what dose of Iodoral you are on? it's hard to read the tiny

print of your email :) you might need more adrenal support and progesterone.

I have experienced the same thing. Although I have been hypothyroid for about 15

years weight gain was never an issue. I had many other symptoms. Now I have been

on iodoral for about 4 months and I feel better, although my blood work is all

out whack but I keep losing weight. It is hard to say that because I know a lot

of people that don't sympathize with me, but when your losing too much it can

become quite unnerving. I thought it was juts the iodine reving up my

metabolism. I am about ready to go up to 50 mgs but a bit nervous because I am

not sure what will happen. I would love to hear what you learn about this.

Thanks,
