Guest guest
I wish I could borrow from someone but I have to be able to pay it back. I lived in Mobile Alabama and lost everything including my car during Hurricane Katrina and mom wanted me to move back home so I did. Biggest mistake in my life. My mom left for Florida for 5 months so I am all by myself now in a very small town and so far the only people I know are the ladies at the library, since I practically live there. I love to read.Something that makes me sleepy at night but once I go lay down in bed the sleepiness leaves me as quick as it came on.I'll be okay. I'll just have to stick it out until something changes. from IllinoisFrom: Gracia <circe@...>iodine Sent: Sat, January 2, 2010 3:41:07 PMSubject: Re: clicking noise you need to get Iodoral or Lugols right away--borrow the $$ if you have to. Guest guest
, The more I read your posts, the more my heart goes out to you and the more I find myself seeing major adrenal fatigue. Please check out the possibility. Dr Rind is one place to start: http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-therapy I learned the hard way the jumping into iodine without dealing with adrenal fatigue is not a good long-term plan. Guest guest
, For what it may be worth, concerning naps: After napping fairly regularly for years, several months ago I decided to stop doing so altogether, partly to try to improve my sleeping at night. It did not take long on that program to almost completely crash my adrenals and sleep (and life), which put me on the research trail to discovering adrenal fatigue. I find that the more and better that I nap, the better my sleeping at night is, as well. Please don't feel like a bother. This is why we are here. Blessings, Judy > > I drink way too much water I was told because I pee on average over 20 times a day. Especially at night even when I cut myself off liquids 2 hours before bed but it is hard because I'm constantly thirsty. My sugar is around 79 everyday. I do test that because it is usually very low. > Give up my one cup of coffee? Hmmmm. When I can start sleeping at least 3 hours of interrupted sleep I may consider quitting the one cup but not now. I refuse to nap during the day in fear of not sleeping at all at night. It is a vicious circle that is driving me mad, literally. I started the supplements because I needed them and it just so happens they are the companion ones for iodine, plus I have all intentions on buying some iodine. > Money for the iodine(iodoral) is why I haven't taken any yet. I just got my SSI check, paid my rent and utilities and have $25.00 left for the month so I won't be buying any this month either now. And you need the supplements when you are taking the iodine or you are wasting your time taking it. > > from Illinois > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi , Some inexpensive things that could help - you might be able to find these books in the library http://www.watercure.com/udc2.html Natural Seasalt can act as a sleep aid - if you are peeing a lot and still thirsty you might be needing the salt to get the water into your cells. http://www.radiantrecovery.com/YLD_signup.htm This book was called 'Potatoes not Prozac' when I found it in the Library - you can work with diet rather than spending money on supplements http://www.rogercallahan.com/index2.php - there is a free guide here, if you google TFT or EFT you will probably find more. While Magnesium helps a lot of people sleep, if it doesn't work for you then try Calcium instead. Potassium is the mineral we need to keep us asleep. Guest guest
In sleep hygiene taking a nap is against the rules and is said to ruin night sleep. Guest guest
Sounds like your adrenals arepumping out cortisol almost 24/7.Get a adrenal/cortisol test done.Look at Dr. Bruce Rind's site:www.drrind.comMelatonin, Apex EnergeticsAdrenaCalm Cream and AtriumPineal Plus helped calm downmy adrenals. You could haveadrenal fatigue or adrenalexhaustion and it could takequite some time to heal the damage due to not sleeping for eight years. I was only sleeping an hour a night forsix months and I thought I was going to go insane ! I was so exhausted! I would finally fall asleep and then one hour later my eyes wouldpop open, my heart would raceand I would be awake for thenext 23 hours. I hope it neverhappens to me again...those were some dark days. Excesscortisol also atrophied mymuscles so you know that itdid some permanent damageto my heart. Guest guest
Hmmm-I would be interested in seeing those sleep hygiene rules and knowing who wrote them. But we seem to be straying OT. Perhaps you could send me a personal email on them. Sorry Steph. Falling asleep and staying that way are major factors in adrenal fatigue, where a whole new set of rules applies. I do hope you will look into it further. > > > > I drink way too much water I was told because I pee on average over 20 times a day. Guest guest
, I too have a sleeping problem due to my adrenals. I just can not fall asleep till after 1:00 AM. However I do sleep 7-9 hrs but I can't stand waking up so late in the morning. I researched " brain entrainment " and then found an affordable, quality, and ethical site. It's based on synchronizing your brain waves and there are various frequencies that help achieve different things. I haven't purchased yet( I will soon) but there is a particular set of frequencies that induce sleep. The nice thing is you can download the MP3 right away and it's fully guaranteed. http://www.store.unexplainable.net/products/sleep.php Karin > Yes, I supplement with mag. Guest guest
Hi ,I used to do the same thing, go two or three days without sleeping then sleep two or three hours, then do it all over again. Before I say anything else, let me say that I use lugol's solution now and it really helps with my thyroid. Iodine is the best, especially when taken with selenium.Having said that, when your thyroid and other glands are off, everything is off. If you work nights or did work nights, it can mess your internal clock badly. So, here is what I do to help myself:1. Do not have a computer or television in your bedroom.2. Do not use a night light if at all possible.3, Take 1,000 mg. of GABA at around 9PM. Capsules tend to work best. I take two 500.4. Go to bed at least by 9:39PM, with a view to sleeping by 10PM.5. Do not eat or drink anything with caffeine in it. This included sodas. Finally, please remember that the food supply is not only deficient in iodine. There are other deficiencies as well. If you break your leg, then it is possible that you are deficient in calcium, boron, and magnesium. You can increase your intake of bio available minerals to keep this from happening again, but you still need to have the bone set and have a cast put on it to help the bones to heal. So, look around you and try to find what can naturally help to enhance sleeping. For example, turkey has l-tryptophan. Foods with l-tryptophan can help to induce sleep.Regards, Bastida Okay, that link that was sent earlier, about Dr. Mercola. If I don't start sleeping I imagine I'm going to have more problems as time goes by.I need help from Illinois From: ido zahavi <zahavi100gmail (DOT) com>iodinegroups (DOT) comSent: Sat, January 2, 2010 1:10:41 PMSubject: clicking noise just a small comment.kelp is full of toxines. Guest guest
Hi Debbie,Gamma-Amino Butyric acid (GABA) is an amino acid which acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system.I use it to help me sleep when my internal clock goes off. I refer to that as splint that I put on my brain while searching for something to fix it. I have found this group as result of that search. I do not put that much stock in research data if the data is paid for by someone who is looking to make a buck. But I try things and if they wrk for me, then that's a good thing. I use lugol's solution now. I use GABA when I need to. I now get 6 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.Regards, Bastida Okay, that link that was sent earlier, about Dr. Mercola. I read it and he says to try supplementing with kelp even.I'm confused. I have a lot of toxins in my body I imagine. I have taken the kelp for 3 weeks. SO in other words, the toxins are making my thyroid swell when here I thought it was the thyroid possibly absorbing the iodine. Arrgggg. I'm so confused now and easily get stressed and for some odd reason crying.
