Guest guest
Hi ; In Turkey people rarely catch a cold, and i as well catch a cold maybe every six or seven years(although my girls and my ex to be get it twice a year) because of this fact. I eat alot of berries but i also take something called elderberry extract you can find them in a health store, finally after 8 years of marriage my wife brokedown and took this thing this year. It was the first year she didn't catch a cold and she started taking it as she was starting to get one and she felt better the next day. That is what works for me. Good Luck, TURK >From: " " <Scrapnfriend@...> >Reply- > " " < >, > " longqt " <longqt >, ><heartfailure > >Subject: Colds and flu >Date: Fri, 3 May 2002 13:39:00 -0700 (Pacific Daylight Time) > >Hi guys, > >It's official.....I have an extremely bad cold. Guest guest
There is also at Trader Joe's, a cold tablet called AIRBORNE, it is an range fizzy drink - you add the tablet to warm water. It is FULL of vitimin C echenasia etc, and it works to help build you up to fight it off. It is the only medicine my son will take for a cold. You should also contact your Doc because there are prescriptive decongestants/cough syrup you CAN take. Take it easy. I know you feel miserable and taking care of yourself it hard, but you can do it. At least call your DOC and leave a message or talk to a DOC on call. Good luck, guin " Gurhan G. Guest guest
hi, i also havent caught any colds or flus(alot of virus crap constantly in the early years of this illness, less now of viral and only the flu after taking the flu shot which i have since stopped taking) one of the first things my cfids md said to me was that the day i catch cold and flus means my immune system is more balanced... intstead of being largely driven by th2 response, it means i will have more of a balance and shift to th1 which is more normal . but this hasnt stopped me from accquiring some of the th1 type auto immune illness( hashimotos, diabetes mellitus to name a few) somish. Guest guest
Most viruses, (Hepatitis being an exception) have evolved to thrive inside our bodies; temp. 98.6 +/- 1-3 degrees, Dark (no UV or IR light),PH 'neutral', not too acidic or alkaline. Change any of these parameters very much, and the virus dies. First sign of a sore throat or 'sniffles', get a UV (Blacklight) flashlight, shine it down your throat, up your nostrils, put it against the outside of your throat and against your cheeks where your sinuses are. Take enough baking soda or Apple Cider Vinegar to make your body alkaline, or enough Vit.C or orange juice to make it acidic. Or, 'give' yourself a fever.Soak in a bath, for 1/2 hour or more, as hot as you can stand it, and keep adding hot water. When you get out, (dry off) and put on warm p.j.'s and get into a bed with lots of blankets, even an electric blanket on high.Goal is to get your temp up several degrees and keep it there for several hours. In the 'old days', before aspirin or Tylenol, when someone developed a fever, they would put them in bed with lots of blankets, maybe a roaring fire in the fireplace, and someone to sit in a chair by the bed.(To make sure they didn't kick off the blankets in their sleep). Once the fever broke, everyone would breath a sigh of relief, knowing they would get better. There are a very few viruses that can survive at temps higher than our bodies can stand, hence the concern till the fever breaks.Hope this isn't too 'off topic'. As far as the Gov't. conspiracy regarding iodine and Lugols, my understanding is the official explanation is that it can be used to make chrystal meth, and so much like some cold remedies, they are limiting the amount you can buy.Following the advise of someone on this group, I bought mine on E-bay, got a nice quantitiy at a reasonable price.Hope nobody closes off this as a source.Damn tweekers!
