Hi :-)

What in the world kinds of meat are you eating :-) If you're on an

extremely tight budget then it may be understandable, but otherwise you

might want to look into some good, high quality sources of protein which can

feature meats, poultries, fish and even Dr. D's Protein pwder for O's.

For beef strongly consider only eating grass-fed. I won't touch anything

else with one exception. If I'm out in a social situation and the best of

many poor choices on a restaurant menu or in someone's home, church etc is

beef then I'll begrudgingly eat enough to be polite. Otherwise I won't

touch grain-fed beef. If there is a Safeway, Tom Thumb or Randall's grocery

near you I can tell you how to get the same grass-fed longhorn beef I eat

and it tastes wonderful and is 98% fat free with no gross fatty parts and no

veiny grisley bits I promise!

With poultry you should be able to cut away the gross parts before cooking.

Focus on free-range poultry.

For fish focus on only wild (not farmed) and fresh (not frozen) cold water

fish.

With these protein sources, some beneficial spices and a little cooking

ability you will love your protein :-)

I truly believe that aversion to " meat " is due almost exclusively to the

awful sources of protein that are prevalent in nearly all grocery stores

today. If you get some sources of protein as properly raised and prepared

(just like they have been for thousands of years!) then you will turn a

corner and come to love it like I do :-)

I am starting to get a bit sick of meat every day - never really

liked meat at all and really get put off when cooking it with all

the gross fatty or veiny/grisley etc. bits.

any ideas ?

Don't really want any pre-sliced meats as they have nitrates in.

Am I maybe trying to jump into it all too fast ?

Springerhill Ranch Brand All Natural Ground Beef is the product I buy and is

about 75% of my total protein. Steve Mobley is the proprietor of

Springerhill and the longhorn used to make the beef are all raised here in

Texas. They are slaughtered and packed in Hillsboro, bout 40 miles south of

Dallas/Fort Worth. The ground beef is made up of all the cuts of the

Longhorn including the finest steak cuts. This makes for wonderful taste

and because longhorn cattle are naturally very muscular and lean there is

only 2% fat so its 98% fat free.

For several years as he was building the business Steve sold to Whole Foods

and Safeway/Randalls/Tom Thumb stores (all of which now have similar

ownership under Safeway). Last year I noticed Whole Foods stopped carrying

his product so I called Steve and he said this was because he signed an

exclusive deal with Safeway. I confirmed this with Safeway and found out

that the Springerhill Ranch Brand is available on request for order to any

Safeway in the country.

Here in Dallas Fort Worth the regular price is $4.99 per pound. Regular

sales mark it down to $3.99 and a few times a year its marked down to $2.99

per pound.

My advice would be to talk to the meat department at your local Safeway and

find out how much you would need to buy for them to order it. If the meat

department is resistant, go to the store manager and let him know this is a

product that can be stocked in any store. Be persistent and contact the

corporate office if necessary.

Are you feeling better?

I was mostly vegetarian for 20 years, but I did like meat before I went vege.

At around 47 years old I was in bad shape and overnight I started eating animal

protein every day. Was feeling better in 3 days but it took about 2 years of

serious compliance to be back to my best. So I would encourage you to not waste

time.

I rotate my animal proteins around (beef, chicken, salmon, turkey, eggs) and

have some generally every day, but not as much as some others have to eat. I

can tell that I start to drag down if I don't have beef, at least, a every 2 to

3 days. I have also found, the better I eat the less I have to eat.

I have found the biggest obstacle or benefit to any change in your life is your

mind.

Maybe you are not convinced you really " need " to eat this way whether you " want "

to or not. You need to replace those thoughts of what you don't like with

beneficial thoughts.

Change is not always easy but usually necessary.
