Liver cleanse

A few people have mentioned liver flushes here. I first posted this

on the BTD Forum in response to someone who was apprehensive about

doing flushes.

==================

I recently did my first flush. I was apprehensive like you at first.

I was attracted to the idea of it because I read several testimonials

of people curing their hay fever symptoms after doing a cleanse. I

have suffered from seasonal hay fever for as long as I can remember;

runny nose, sneezing fits, blocked sinus, weeping eyes, etc.

I read the most " popular " references on liver cleansing:

Chang's site http://www.sensiblehealth.com./ and Hulda 's

cleanse at CureZone http://www.curezone.com/default.asp?t=25146

I settled on Chang's version and still modified it a bit.

Hulda's version is very regimented. Do this at 2pm, do that at 8pm,

otherwise it won't work, etc. I'm not putting it down. I just didn't

think it fit what I wanted to do.

OK, so here is what I did.

Friday, went to work and ate all day as normal. Evening meal of meat

& vegetables as usual. 45 minutes before going to bed, I had 1/4 cup

of extra virgin olive oil mixed with 1/3 cup of grapefruit juice.

Everyone recommends freshly squeezed grapefruit juice but the

grapefruit at the green grocers looked terrible so I just used

Bottled juice made from concentrate. I repeated this step every 15

minutes until I had done it 4 times.

So, all up, I took a cup of olive oil and 4/3 cup of grapefruit

juice. By this time, I was burping olive oil which is not that

pleasant.

I then went straight to bed. says to sleep on your right hand

side. Not sure why but I usually start the night like that so that

was no big deal.

First thing in the morning, I drank 1 and 1/2 litres of lukewarm

water with the juice of 1/2 a lemon.

Then I sat and waited. Now you must really hang around the house for

the second day. You never know when you are going to the toilet, but

when you go, you really have to go!!!!

Pardon my French but my first shit was normal. I thought the flush

hadn't worked. A couple of hours later, I had my second. I still saw

nothing. But I went to the garden, got a stick, poked around a bit

and there they were, little black stones, the size of small jelly

beans, floating to the surface. My shit was very sticky, almost

mucousy. I was expecting the runs so this was interesting.

My third was the consistency of crunchy peanut butter. Charming. I

didn't bother poking around any more. I could see black bits poking

through so I knew there were more stones. Some people like to count

them. There seems to be a competitive streak among some flushers.

They are so proud at the huge quantity that they've purged. " Oh, I

did 34,567 stones!!!! " , etc.

For this second day, recommends only eating soft vegetables and

broth. This is the hardest part. I was starving! I kept to it though

adding rice to the veg for an evening meal.

And that's it really. It can be yucky drinking the oil/juice combo.

Basically, you are drinking salad dressing. The second day, you may

feel a bit nauseous, and the shitting can be challenging. But there

was no pain.

And on the third day, I just ate as normal.

I didn't have a shit on the third or fourth day. This was strange

since I am normally very regular but if it doesn't want to come out,

I just wait. The body will purge itself when it wants to, I figure.

Oh yeah, and I don't have any hay fever systems!!!! Serious!!! I

ain't joking. Since doing the flush, I haven't taken any medication

at all, nothing.

So it worked but I don't know why.

I'm about to do my second flush to see if I can improve my health yet

again.

So the moral of this story is: Be apprehensive. That's

understandable. But go ahead and do it. The most you'll have is a

weird sleep, the smell of olive oil on your breath, a challenging poo-

laden second day. And who knows, maybe it will work for you. But

don't sweat it if it doesn't.

Cheers,

PS: if anyone has any idea why a flush would get rid of my hay fever

symptoms, I'd love to know.
