Guest guest
Hi Bobbi, 15 huh?....wow...so young... Anyway. This site is focused on a program called Body for Life, you can find the book in most book stores or maybe in the library. I can't tell you all about the program in one post, but I'll give you an out line. First, this is not a diet. Well, actually it is, but not by the definition we usually put on that word; diet = deprivation. It is a diet if you consider that what ever food you eat is part of your " diet " . On this plan we try to have six small meals a day, balanced evenly between carbs and protein. In addition to eating properly, the program includes exersise. We do 20 minutes of intence cardio or aerobic exersise three times a week, and weight training three times a week. Now that you know where we are comming from, why dont you tell us some more about yourself; what your goals are, where you are now, what things you like to do, what challanges you face. You are very young, and I suggest that anything we advise you to do be run passed your parents and physician first, to be sure we are not telling you to do something that you shouldn't be doing at your age. Guest guest
Hi Tink, I am also in Ontario- Welcome from a fellow Canadian! Good luck with your programme, and welcome to the group! Laurie New! Hi everyone, I'm new. My name is Crystal but most people just call me Tink I am 23 and a mother of one. Zoey who is 3. I live with my signifigant other Dan for 2 years and we will be buying a home shortly. I live in Ontario Canada. I have been losing weight for 3 years and it has been stalled so I heard about Body for Life and would like to work on building muscle. I ordered the book today from Chapters and can't wait to take a look at hte program. I was 208 at my highest post pregnancy. And currently I am 157 lbs and 5 foot tall. I don't know my body fat percentage as I don't have a way to measure it, so I may join the gym as resources are short in my area. I lost the majority of my weight with Weight Watchers. I hope to get to know everyone and learn a lot from all of you. Thanks for letting me join! Tink :-D

Guest guest
Hi Tink! Welcome to the group! You will love it here. ) Body for Life really works so I think you are in the right place. I also think joining a gym will help you a great deal. It is soooooo much easier to do BFL if you have the right " tools " and gym equipment is a " must " in my opinion. Best of luck!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi Crystal (Tink)...This is wierd, my name is Crystal also, I'm known as Tinkle to anyone who knows me HaHa.It's a small world. I live in Texas. I'm a married mother of 2 boys 9 & 7, been married 12 years, I'm 31 5'9, 197(somedays I'm lucky and the scale says 193 LOL). I'm new to all of this also. It's nice to know I'm not the only one going through the weight loss process. Tomorrow is my first day to begin BFL. I'm a little nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because of all the prior failed attempts at weight loss. I feel really good about BFL. Can't wait to post before/after pics:) Tinkle
Guest guest
Good Luck on starting BFL. I am currently working on getting back on the wagon. I really liked the program when I stuck to it. I have end of term finals going on (stress eating). Not good. I plan on starting up right after finals (again). We can do it! Guest guest
Hi Hannah! I am new to this group too. Here is the basic Lip balm recipe I use and everyone seems to love it. 4oz oil ( I use a mix like emu, macadamia, hemp butter, etc..) 3 oz beeswax melt and let cool a bit then add: 4-6 drops of Vitamin E 10 drops each of these EOs (Lavender, Rosemary, Tea Tea, & Peppermint) Sometimes I add a bit of mica to color it This makes about 24 tubes (.15 fl oz tubes) -- Hugs, Sharibeth Imagination is more important than knowledge. Guest guest
Hi Hanna, welcome. I made some nice lip balm it had emu oil in it in addition to other healing oils. The trick is to figure out the ratio of beeswax to oils--it's not always easy. Sometimes I do a ball test. Drop a little bit of your finished product in some cold water then dump the water to see how firm your mixture is. Have lots of fun here--there are a lot of pros (not me--I'm fairly new to making soap (CP and HP), though I've been doing a lot of other things for a few years. Anyone have any killer recipes that I might try? I'm really excited about this and need all the advice I can get! Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the info. I'm really excited to experiment. I don't know that much about all the different oils and stuff but I have a book on making soap (I'm trying that after the lip balm) that outlines a lot of them in it...so I'm learning =) What does emu oil do? Guest guest
Hi Sharibeth, Thanks for the recipe. I will definately be trying it out! What kind of a smell does it have? Is it subtle? Also do you recommend using essential oils or specifically flavor oils to flavor stuff? Do essential oils have flavor to them? I hope I dont sound really dumb now...=) > > Hi Hannah! Guest guest
I like using the EOs and the scent is not over bearing. Some EOs are good preservatives too. I never use flavored oils so I really can't comment on them. My lip balms and comfrey salves are my top sellers though and I using only natural ingredients. -- Hugs, Sharibeth Imagination is more important than knowledge. Guest guest
Hi , Just wanted to welcome you to the group. I have a daughter that is 6, and she is on Zoloft. She has been taking it for about 3 months now, and she has improved alot. The side affect with us was extreme hyperactivity, but she was borderline ADHD before. She has what they refer to as " Pure O " OCD, which means she has bad thoughts, but few if any compulsions. It took about a month for us to notice any changes for the better. OCD is such a roller coaster ride, because the obcessions/compulsions change from day to day. Some days better, and some worse. I wish you and your family all the best. It can be a very long process to say the least. I at least don't have to deal with the school system on top of everything else, because we homeschool. Guest guest
Hi, I am new to this forum, my name is Jill. I am educating myself about the health benefits of iodine. One if the questions I have involves the information on the Tahoma Clinic site that states that using sski for too long can suppress your thyroid's natural function... Is this from using sski alone, or in combination with iodine? Is this actually a valid statement? What should I start out with? Lugols? Thanks in advance, Jill~
