I do not have an answer to your nail problem but mine have ALWAYS been that way.

They do not break but bend so easy back and forth. I was thinking of doing the

candida diet too. How has it made u feel, have you lost weight, etc

Tamara <tamaratornado@...> wrote: I've been on type-O friendly candida

I've been noticeing that my fingernails have become weak. They break

easily the past couple weeks.

That doesn't make sense to me. I thought fingernails were made of

protein. I am eating lots of protein.

I admit I have been cheating with nuts. Though I don't see how nuts

would cause this particular problem.

I've hear gelatin is good for nails, is that true?

Any ideas, anyone?

What about biotin - they need that too:-)

Fingernails are protein but, too much protein can also weaken them.

Most likely though that you need minerals. Cal/Mg and the trace minerals

The candida diet I am on you can join the group

The leader of the group is not friendly to BTD. However the diet she

advocates is so similar to type O diet it is not to worry.

I have had some die-off symptoms but not so severe. I have way fewer

headaches now than before I started the diet, and my tongue is clean,

(I used to have a white coating on my tongue) Also my athelete's foot

is much much better.

I lost 6 lbs. I would like to loose 10 more. I beleive the nuts I've

been cheating on might have to do with not loosing more. Plus I should

exercise more.

I still have a number of symptoms I would like to heal, so I need more

time on it.

What's biotin? Do you take it as a supplement? What foods have biotin?

I eat twice a day, protien about the size of my fist. With vegetables

and fat.

I was taking " Natural Calm " magnesium and it felt really good for a

few months, now it doens't work as well, I think my body is changing

its needs and I've been having trouble finding the right amount.

I was taking some trace minerals and stopped when I ran out, I could

get some more.

I am also taking kelp daily I think that affect fingernails. I take

one capsule or 1/4 tsp -- I don't think that's too much?

I eat mostly almonds, and I try to soak them in water as Sally Fallon

recommends to neutralize the phytates. But sometimes I eat them

unsoaked. I have eaten some avoid nuts though, Brazils and pistachios.

I know I am eating too many nuts -- alot of it is that I need

something to snack on that I can just grab, not have to prepare.

I want to buy a dehydrator and make my own meat jerky. my oven doens't

work at low temps. I think having a pile of dried, ready to eat meat

around would help alot with the nut thing.

I never understood the 8 glasses of water thing. I feel awful when I

try to do that. I drink about 2 or 3 glasses of water in the morning,

and a few more during the day, maybe 4 - 6 all together. Any more than

that doens't work for me.

I'm eating all those foods that have biotin, except the brewer's

yeast. I'm taking B-complex.

Thank you Irene,

I've been taking MegaFood brand B complex. It has 300 mcg of biotin,

along with all the B's & stuff.

I've had vertical ridges on some of my nails for years now. The ring

finger on both hands the nail bends down.
