Guest guest
It finally came to me yesterday. How do you describe the bulk of the physicians that I have run into. Professional Xenophobes. That is people who are fearful of all those who are not in their profession. I do believe that physicians in this realm, the greater thyroid realm, actually do have good reason to be Professional Xenophobes because their profession does not prepare them for the intelligent discourse and scientifically based critiques. They are living in the fantasy world (a) that has the thyroid directly connected with the symptoms, ( where the realitively inactive pro-hormone, thyroxine (T4), is the effective hormone, © where the active hormone, triiodothyronine (T3), is the ineffective hormone (but dangerous), (d) where their failure rate of 13% has to be covered up with nonsensical diagnostics that either blame medicine for being inadequate or blame the patients for imagining their woes. They do appear to be xenophobic for good reason. They do not have the right stuff. * * * * * * Last night, and I went to a book signing with Eleanor Clift, a left wing political commentator, who happens to be in the most vulnerable demographic, an older woman. In giving her the following I mentioned that one of our support group called to thank us for the information that got her the T3 she needed and said that she cleaned house because she WANTED to. Eleanor really got the point. So perhaps the following will do something: Eleanor Clift – by Hand April 17, 2009 Re: Unnecessary Suffering by a Million American Women ! 1.5 Million [American] Women Are Dissatisfied with Their Treatment for Hypothyroidism. !
