Have I done this right T4 &T3?

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good weekend.

I shoiuld have asked first but I got carried away with myself, so I'll

ask now and hope I'm right.

A little history:

75mcg Levo T only, bloods done prior to morning dose:

7th August 2008

TSH 1.3 (0.3-5.5)

FT4 14.7 (11-24)

FT3 4.9 (3.5-6.7)

100mcg Levo T only, bloods done prior to morning dose:

15th September 2008

TSH 0.18 (0.3-5.5)

FT4 19.0 (11-24)

FT3 5.2 (3.5-6.7)

When I had the bloods on 15th sept I didn,t wait for results I upped

my dose of T4 to 125mcg and felt better as I was still getting hypo

symptoms. Week later saw GP for above results. He suggested T3.

Started 10mcg T3 and he put me down to 50mcg T4. I had as of yesterday

(12th oct) been on this combined dose for 3 weeks. I hve had new

bloods done today (no T3 or T4 prior)

I'm due to see GP for results next monday but I have done the

following, today I increased my T3 to 20mcg and T4 to 100mcg.

My reasons are: although I knew the T4 alone wasn't adequate as I was

getting hot sweats, I'm sure there was a conversion problem and the T4

was pooling, my symptons were improving slightly. Since dropping the

T4 the bloating has come back with a vengence, I'm sleeping in the day

again, football face has reappeared, hip and back pain is back, hair

is dry and snapping again ( had to have 4 " cut off on Saturday as it

was a mess at the side, it had grown so well in the last 3 months

too). All of these problems improved more than I realised. It's only

dropping the T4 to 50mcg that has made me realise how much.

My GP has been supportive since I showed him the facts 'n' figures

from TPA,and I'm slowly drip feeding him LOL, and he totally agrees

that T3 is usually a must with T4 treatment, but he's so cautious and

seems unsure of the best way to dose. I'm going to dose myself on the

symptons/how I feel, but I'm not sure if I've done it right - doubling

up to take 100mcg T4 and 20mcg T3.

Have I jumped the gun a little.

Opinions on the dosage ratio, do's and dont's would be most

appreciated. (hides under the table in case Sheila tells me off!!!)
