Guest guest
Is it better to take Lugol's alone? Is anything lost if taken after a meal? Thank you, Meg
Guest guest
It can irritate the stomach so it is better taken with food. Steph Lugol's on an empty stomach? Is it better to take Lugol's alone? Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, It is recommended to take it with food; however, it is not absolutely necessary. I am taking Iodoral now and I always take it with breakfast. But I also take a few drops of Lugol's one time in the day in water, and usually my stomach is empty when I take it and I do fine. It's really up to each person to see what works best for them. But again, for me, I can take Lugol's on an empty stomach and do fine. Best, Kathleen Lugol's on an empty stomach? Hello: I have read here many times that Lugol's should be taken with food and I understand that but if I have Bacterial Overgrowth in my stomach from NO MOTILITY would it not be okay to take PART OF IT, on an empty stomach? Would there be any harm in doing that? Thanks, Bonnie
Guest guest
Bonnie-- The reason food is specified is because iodine is oxidizing and some people have stomach pain when they take Lugol's on an empty stomach. If the only way you can take it is on an empty stomach, try it and see how you feel. It's up to you. Also, iodine in the diet would be taken with food, and minerals are meant to be ingested as part of the diet, which is another reason for specifying taking it with food. However, you'll be better off taking the iodine on an empty stomach than not taking it at all. And, here's something else: The stomach absorbs iodine directly for its own use, when iodine is present. So when you take Lugol's the stomach has the opportunity to do that. With Iodoral, the stomach will still get iodine, but only once the iodine is in circulation in the body. So it should be helpful to you to have the Lugol's directly on board. -- At 06:01 PM 8/16/2011, you wrote: >Hello: > >I have read here many times that Lugol's should be taken with food and I >understand that but if I have Bacterial Overgrowth in my stomach from NO >MOTILITY would it not be okay to take PART OF IT, >on an empty stomach? > >Would there be any harm in doing that? > >Thanks, >Bonnie > > > ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
It sounds like you take 100 mg all at once in the morning ...is that correct? Also, is that a good idea ...rather than spreading it thru out the day? Does Iodine 'slow release' or will one just urinatepart of the 100 mg that is not needed at that time?THNX, in advance, to anyone who might know the answer and make the time to respond!YES .......Ron for President 2012 !!!On Aug 17, 2011, at 2:14 AM, wrote: Been taking 100mg of Lugols every morning for 5 months on an empty stomach.
