Guest guest
It is not recommended that you continue the program while you are pregnant. Once you conceive I would discontinue the program. But you are learning great tools to get back in shape after the pregnancy. Knowing what to do now, will make it easier later. The strength and muscle you gain now will help you keep healthy during your pregnancy and make birthing the baby easier when the time comes. Work on strengthing your legs and your abs and back. Good Luck and let us know when you get pregnant so we can congratulate you! - In a message dated 02-Sep-00 02:28:44 AM Eastern Daylight Time, TexasAggie1991@... writes: << My husband and I are trying to conceive. I am not finished with the book yet so I don't know whether it says anything about this but is there anything harmful about the eating plan if I were to get pregnant during my 12 weeks? I know that whatever exercise I am doing I can continue but a friend suggested that maybe this plan has too much protein? Tracey >>

Guest guest
Tracey, Your best bet is to screen this through your OB/GYN. But my guess is that this plan has too few calories to support a growing fetus. After 7 kids I am just guessing. LOL ~Laury

Tr >> When you do conceive, talk to your doctor and work out an eating plan that will consider how many calories you need to maintain your present weight while allowing the fetus to get the calories it needs to grow properly. Eating healthy is a must during your pregnancy so the plan itself is not a problem. Getting the right amount of calories for your baby is what you need to focus on. I think most doctors will shy away from having you lose weight during your pregnancy but I have heard of women going through their entire pregnancy and maintaining their pre-pregnancy weight. ~Laury
Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the replies! I am especially concerned because I gained 65 pounds with my son and I do NOT want to do that again! I fully understand that Bill and EAS would be cautious of directing a pregnant woman as every pregnancy is unique. I feel sure that I will have to modify if I get pregnant during the challenge but I just didn't want to have to give it up altogether! I will definitely let my midwife know what I am doing and see what advice she has. Thanks again! Tracey
Guest guest
-Tracey: Congrats on your new challenge " conceiving and parenthood " . This is an excellent program to get your body in a healthy state to conceive, most women do not pre-plan pregnancy by preparing their bodies. Yes you can exercise while preg. but you may and will have to modify exercises. It is important to discuss everything with your Dr. The smaller freq meals will also be to your advantage but make them well balanced. The only supplements allowed will be prenatal vit and Protein drinks/bars " with Dr. approval on ingrediants " . Remember pregnancy is not an illness it is a natural body state ---- for women :} Being healthy and fit also will make labor and delivery easier. So don't wait start today---make that body healthy and strong. Best of BFL wishes " Taz " -- In bodyforlifeegroups, TexasAggie1991@a... wrote: > My husband and I are trying to conceive.
