Guest guest
Hi Angie, and welcome to the group. Is 'fat craving' an issue for you, or only at TOM? Have you ever tried supplementing with something like flax seed oil? Sounds wrong, add oil to your diet to loose weight and be healthy, but there is sound research to support supplementing with a good fat full of Essential Omega 3s. And, it seems to help with the cravings. If you already knew all that, sorry for boring you...lol Barbara > > Hi everyone, my name is Angie, I'm from Halifax Nova Scotia and I'm > just starting the Body for life program. Guest guest
Hi, I'm Essie. I originally had blood tests in 2005 which i was told were " borderline " for hypothyroid. I've had repeat tests every six months and most recent ones last week. My TSH was 4.78 and my FT4 is 10.9 I know these aren't that far above the normal ranges. For my lab normal TSH is 0.5-3.5 and FT4 is 10-25. My GP told me that I had Compensated Hypothyroid, and that they would not consider any treatment currently. My symptoms are getting worse, to the point that my work is suffering, my social life is nonexistent. I'm freezing cold all the time. My skin and hair is dry. I'm exhausted. I'm very pale, and my eyes seem almost sunken and are listless. I'm only 21 but i feel so much older. I asked my GP what was causing these symptoms if it wasn't my thyroid and he said that yes, these are symptoms of hypothyroid but he said it might be stress, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He offered me antidepressants as the only thing he could suggest. From reading and research into hypothyroid I'm sensing that my story is not a rare one. I don't really know where to go from here.
