Guest guest
Hi, Is there a list in your files that I can look for that will tell me what test and/or questions I need to ask my GP. Now I've found this site I'm wanting to start from scratch (yes after 15 years lol), a new starting point & want to know what tests I need to have done or should be having & what questions I need to ask. Can you help? thanks Debbie
Guest guest
Well - there isn't one for GP's but you can use the one we have that is entitled " First visit to your Endocrinologist " and take what information you need out of there. Go to the Home Page of this forum thyroid treatment and then click on FILES in the Menu. Click on the LINKS section to as there is some good information there, and while there, click also on PHOTO'S and have a look at our rogues gallery. As a starter - you need Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Free Thyroxine (FT4), Free Triiodothyronine (FT3) and have you ever been tested to see if you have antibodies to your thyroid. You need to test your Ferritin level (stored iron), vitamin B12, vitamin D, Magnesium, zinc and copper. If they want to know why you need the last 5, tell them that you are aware that if any of these are low in the range, there is a very good chance any of these might stop your thyroid hormone replacement from being absorbed and that you know whatever of these was low, you would need to supplement to raise the level so your thyroxine could work. That will do for starters. Luv - Sheila Hi, Is there a list in your files that I can look for that will tell me what test and/or questions I need to ask my GP. _._,___
