I tried the Dr. Lam ones from the library but the guy puts me to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz The " Eneryg Chi " and " AM Chi " for beginners are great for stretching too The " PM Chi " and the Method's " Tai Chi " are very boring but relaxing Barb who is hemming and hawing about trying Carradine's " Tai Chi for the Mind " for beginners cuz fears it will be less exciting than the one for the body

I still believe I burn as much doing Tae-Bo as a person who does karate and karate burns over 400 in 30 minutes so until a scientific study is done on Tae-Bo or cardio kickboxing, I believe the karate estimate is the best to go by. Barb who husbands seems to burn maybe 200 calories in 30 minutes for the effort he makes which may even be less than half of my effort

Guest guest
Barb, i think that tai chi is not considered " excercise " it is " stress reduction, " so my cardiologist neighbor says. Running and strenous weight lifting are different than tai chi and moderate weights I guess. who knows, I do know that my intensity is high....but I want to run the Boston marathon someday...so I guess i can not slow downThis depends on what kind of tai-Chi you are doing. We usually think of the slow controlled excercises that peole do to redice stress, but Tai-Chi is a martial art, meaning used for fighting. If you are practicing it that way it is definately excercise. Barb, which way are you practicing Tai-Chi? Luci

I thought it was around 500 for an advanced workout. I would think it should be a little higher than 360 considering the 20-30 min aerobic tapes from a few years ago supposedly burned 200+ before they started getting aggressive. Guest guest
I agree. I use my stair master for 40 minutes, It has this thing that you put in your height and weight and it tells you calorie burn, mine always burns about 400 in 40 minutes, so I find it hard to believe TB is only 300- 360. i am beat with tae bo, feel fine on Stair master na --- lucihs <lucihs@...> wrote: > > >360/hour? Guest guest
Hi Tisha, isn't it totally brill when you start to feel human again, I'm soooo happy for you. I can't speak for anyone else but I had a very good immediate response when I started NA (a year + ago now). I don't know if you are doing your temps, but mine had been steady at around 36.4 and then lea pt up to 36.7 the day I started the NA and steadily increased thereafter. Also, I don't think anyone can underestimate the benefits of treating the ass. conditions. Enjoy. julia
