Guest guest
Reporting in with the latest progress report on 's and my night time dosing with Armour. Yesterday morning, 's 'transient' headache popped in and out for him until around 12.00noon. I woke with a slight headache which lasted only a short time (very mild) and we both had an excellent day. Never once did feel tired during the day (often he feels like a short nap in the afternoon) but this didn't happen. I felt well the whole day. Didn't miss the T3 in the Armour Last night, instead of taking my usual 3 grains plus 25 mcgs T4, I took only 2 grains. We both slept well. I awoke at 5.00p.m. to go to the Loo, fell back to sleep again until 7.30a.m. This morning, I experienced no headache whatsoever, and had only a slight headache, which stopped as soon as he got out of bed. Can anybody explain why we should get the headache when starting this regime please. Luv - Sheila .. Guest guest
LOL Shelia, are you watching me? I am on my lap top in the evenings but I DO turn if off around 10pm, I promise, and then I am in bed before 10.15. It may be slightly later at the weekends but not by much. The sleep pattern is one thing I am determined to get right although its impossible to sleep in any later than 7.30 am as I have children to get off to school and I work from 11.30am for 3 hours a day. 4 on Friday. At the weekends we lay in till around 9am usually. Guest guest
Hi Marie, I am so thrilled for you. You are saying the same as most of those taking night time meds. I am sure it has to do with absorption without interruption and the thyroid hormone gets the chance to get on down into the cells.(but what do I know). Its so much easier when having to take other meds or supplements. I bet the increase will see you sleeping all thru the night. woohoo jennyfreeman > > Hi all i am still taking my (nature throid ) at night feel great and > > sleeping well not all night but if i do wake i can settle down again > > quite quickly. >
Guest guest
Hi folks, I keep reading on how well several of you are getting on with night dosing. I did try it once, but it was a miserable failure-insomnia. But it wasn't a full change- half and half. I'm going to give it another go. I'm off for a gentle week away soon, so that would be an ideal time to try it- I'm up to my eyeballs in work at the moment before my trip- always a bad time to do any changes. > thyroid treatment > From: mariesimpson1248@...> Date: Mon, 6 Oct 2008 15:33:10 +0000> Subject: armour at night> > Hi Sheila and every one just to let you know i am doing fine after > reducing from 5 grains to 4 its amazing i wonder if i still took it of > a day would i have been on 6 grains now agh!i need some 1 grain now > (nature throid )and despite contacting different pharmacies no one > seems to have them only 0.25 & 0.5 and i am trying to keep the cost > down. Guest guest
Hiya Well, Armour at night is definately doing something. Less anxiety temp seems better Less shaking Bouncing outta bed Problem today though Very picky and annoyed with things and the had a mood swing and got upset, thats prolly something to do with the female hormone thing I have going on at the moment tho, the bleeding and stuff. Still got the breathlessness on exertion. Overall, on a positive note so far, the nightime dosing seems better. I would never have thought it. But whoo hoo lotsa luv and God bless Dawnx
Guest guest
They say I do hon, but it isn't the kind of breathlessness I usually get with that. It may have changed, but I don't know. I will have to try and take my inhalers more regularly, I had been getting away without taking them a lot. Thanks for reminding me lol take care Luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Dawn: Breathlessness can be a symptom of hypoT. I didn't know this til recently, but last year I was breathless and went to my GP who gave me a ventolin inhaler and said I did NOT have asthma. I have used it maybe 6 times in a year, but have felt definite benefit immediately on taking it. Yhe first time it was as if my brain was clearing - I hoped it was because of improved oxygen to the brain. Here's hoping yours improves with your inhalers even if it's not asthma at the moment. Glad you are finding Armour at night a help. I have taken my L-T4 at night for nearly 2 years now, mainly bacause it is so much easier. Best wishes Kat > They say I do hon, but it isn't the kind of breathlessness I usually > get with that. Guest guest
Thanks Kat I am also exploring, VCD, gluten, Higher reflix in connection with my Hiatus hernia. It is wierd that I have had odd days when not so breathless then next day back to breathless again. I am going back on my Serovent and Flixotide to see if that helps and will take 3 x the Ferrograd that I have been taking and more B12 today. Anything to oxygenate my body. I feel as though I am suffocating sometimes. Glad you got better. Mine seems to get worse the more Armour I get on, I had a certain amount of relief from the breathlessness earlier on in the treatment, wonder why that was? This is my most bothersome symptom. If a very good friend of mine (Shiela x wouldn't mind asking one of the advisors if he has any tips for me I would be most grateful). Although I know docs don't diagnose without seeing a patient, it may help. I am on DGL for my reflux now which does seem to help but still very short of breath, mostly on exertion, even slight. The surgery phoned for their nebulizer back 2 days ago, they leant me it ages ago and I haven't been fit enough to take it back since. Now my hubby is on some ointment that makes him feel faint and have megaheadaches, I promised to get the neb back to them so somehow I am going to have to get up there soon anyway. Might as well see a doc while I am at it lol. Cheers mi dear luv Dawn
Guest guest
Hi Dawn Are you sure your adrenals are up to scratch yet, if not, this could well be the reason you are unable to increase your armour without getting these symptoms. I have sent you a private email. Luv - Sheila I feel as though I am suffocating sometimes. Glad you got better. Guest guest
Hi Shiela I don't really think my adrenals are up to scratch yet, my charting over the last 3 or 4 days says not with my tempws, although they seem able to produce something to make me a scanty period. I am suffocating today its awful, I feel like death. I never recieved your private email Shiela, I cannot understand why? God bless all lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Hi all Not posted a message for a long time as I have not been feeling too bad. I am currently on 3.5 grains of Armour. I was taking 2 grains in morning and 1.5 mid afternoon. While on this I was still feeling quite tired in afternoon and early evening but was fine with all other previous symptoms. Went to see Dr B last week for blood results which were TSH 0.0 FT3 4.2 FT4 8.2 and he suggested taking 2 grains of Armour at night and 1.5 mid morning because by taking Armour at night it absorbs better! I think he dosen't want to up my Armour anymore as yet due to TSH being 0.0. Does anyone else take there Armour like this and if so how do you feel? Going to stick with it till I see him again in April but do feel a lot tireder. Thanks Chan

Guest guest
Hi Chan, TSH is always nil with Armour, so that's not why. But it's worth a try. I found that split doses left me feeling tired all day, but one big dose in the morning was fine- you just have to try it and see. Night doses kept me awake, but then my dose is higher than yours.
