Guest guest
wow you are working so hard on this and I wish you and LinR well. I was so sick and toxic when I had my only child, and then infertile from age 24 on--very hypothyroid from a partial thyroidectomy. my son's wife is having their second child in October, but they just think I am a nutjob, so I can't say much. gracia Ziggy wrote: > > Hi Lin, > > I know what you're going through. Guest guest
Thanks so much for the support. It's been a Godsend finding this group. You're so right, Steph, so many of us are full of toxins and we're just starting to see the effects on the next generation. It hit home for me when I read Weston Price's book 'Nutrition and Physicial Degeneration' from 1939. It's the first time a link was made between malnutrition and physical deformities. The photos are fascinating. http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks02/0200251h.html So it's not hard to make a link between toxins and other physical conditions. As Weston Price documented, seafood and fish eggs (read: iodine) were an important part of the preconception diet in traditional societies. We recently moved to Australia to be closer to my husband's family, and to continue treatment thru the Jocelyn Centre, a naturopathic fertility clinic run by Francesca Naish. Screening for the Sydney IVF program includes putting patients thru a 'pre-conception' program at the Jocelyn Centre, which involves a minimum 4 months detox / supplement protocol. It's based on a fertility program started in the UK in 1978 (Foresight), which published a study in 1995 showing an 80% success rate for couples previously considered infertile and older couples (in the Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine). http://www.fertility.com.au/ Lin, you may want to have a look at 's book Detox Strategies http://www.brendawatson.com/books/detoxstrategy/ It helped me clean out the house and provides an explanation of the different type of detox programs, and in which order to do them. Francesca Naish has also published her own line of books re: natural fertility. I will definitely post if/when we're pregnant. Guest guest
A friend of mine had a young child regress into autism after vaccinations, & tried to warn all her cousins. They thought she was a nutjob. Now they are going to her for help dealing with autistic children. People don't figure out that we are right soon enough. Guest guest
It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. I had 13 fillings replaced and a crown and that was £1000 so about $1500, but may be more in the US. I needed to be fairly strong to have them replaced and saw an NP who specialises in heavy metals who helped me get my body ready with loads of antioxidants, zinc etc. The dentist I used (I saw three before I chose - my own didn't have any real experience with mercury) was a specialist in mercury removal. For chelation after the removal I used a method of homeopathy called Field Control Therapy which was both safe and effective. There is a lot of material on the web about mercury and replacing fillings. I think it would be a good idea to do quite a bit of reading if you are considering this as it's important that it goes well and that you don't redistribute the mercury. > > > > > > To answer some questions, I've been taking iodine for about 5 months now. Guest guest
You may also want to do some research about the type of material used in the fillings. I replaced mine with porcelain. The white filler they use contains BPA, and no long term studies have been done on its use. However, BPA and gold are useful to fill cavities on the sides of teeth. Most dentists use gold for their own fillings - it lasts the longest, it's flexible and costs the same as porcelain. Also, as pointed out, it's important to find a dentist who follows the appropriate mercury removal protocols (as per Dr Hal Huggins, an American dentist who's published many books on the topic and has been a big anti-amalgam advocate after making the link btw mercury and chronic health concerns of his patients). Google 'biological' or 'holistic' dentists in your area. As an example, here's a link to the protocol used by my dentist: http://www.draraelmajian.ca/amalgam.php I was given sodium alginate tablets immediately beforehand (brown algae - in case of acute mercury exposure, available from Genestra). I also took a handfull of chlorella tablets before and afterwards, followed by a dose of vit C IV (20gm+). Ziggy > > > > Is dental filling replacement very expensive? Guest guest
Wow that's cheap! I had 11 fillings removed as well as a root canal tooth pulled. Mine was $5,600. Steph Re: too much iodine? Guest guest
Believe me, I get that this issue could have nutritional roots -- & I keep experimenting with the nutrients that are supposed to be related. Inositol proved to be HUGE for the OCD (as in reducing it by 25-35%, perhaps) & our accidental overdetox with 2 combined protocol got us another reduction before it got us some serious overdetox symptoms. But it is not as easy as some of these writers make it sound!AnneOn Aug 21, 2010, at 7:38 AM, david kenna wrote: Anne,Milton kson MD in his collected works writes about OCD and many other serious mental disorders. Guest guest
Anne,Interesting your findings of how Inositol worked to reduce the symptoms. It certainly isn't easy as many with very serious conditions on this list have testified. There is a lot to learn and what I find wonderful is the way people can shareoften very painful experiences which can guide others to a solution to their problem. >If I can give you some advice. Guest guest
Steph, The British have much better normal insurance and medical care costs I'm assuming are so much cheaper set up than in the US if it's just like France. I had my teeth cleaned and xrays for 36 dollars only 5 or so years ago in France without any insurance. > > > > > > > > To answer some questions, I've been taking iodine for about 5 months now. Been ttc for about 2 years. > > > > > > > > I understand wanting to completely detox before ttc but I just feel like it's going to happen wen God wants it to happen. I have been eating organically for 2 years, drinking filtered water (and showering) for a year and have really lowered my toxic risk. I know toxins stick around for awhile so I'm doing what I can. > > > > > > > > Is there a way I can test my toxic load? Is using bentonite clay a recognized way of detoxing? My personal experience is: Every time I've taken it, I feel really tired and low, almost sick for 2 days and then I expel it and then I feel amazing! I really do think it works and I've had great results with it. > > > > > > > > I don't understand how so many (unhealthy) women get pregnant no problem and their kids grow up " fine " (I know something comes up along the way). Grrr I care so much about my health and I am the one having problems. > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
Man, am I glad after reading this thread that my wife was at least a good year and a half detox on 50mg/day of Iodoral before getting pregnant! This theory sure seems to make some sense to me! > > > > > > Please do not take the advice of the adrenal group.
