Hi All

I'm sorry I've been away for a while...

I think the last time I was on I'd just seen Dr P (That man is an angel

by the way).

To cut a long story short...I increased my Armour from 2, to 3 and then

upto 4, as well as continuing with NAE, DHEA and adding Co-Q10.

I was starting to feel a lot better (only wiped out once a week instead

of every day) although I've never got rid of the pains, especially in

my legs.

After about a week of going up to 4, I started getting cold sweats and

then I noticed I was losing one of my thumbnails from the nail bed

(which I understand is a hyper symptom?) so I've dropped down to 3

Armour per day again.

I'm really confused though as I've certainly never felt " hyper " ? My

resting pulse is still quite slow (it's never gone much over 60) and my

temps are always around 36.0-36.5 and as I said I'm still tired, achy

and brain fogged?

Any ideas?

Thanks Penny

Do you have any thyroid function test results to post here Penny. If not, can you get some done - but please remember to stop your Armour for 24 hours before you do. Just because you read that the thumb nail problem was a hyper symptom is not really enough reason to cut your dose down especially as you were not getting other hyper symptoms. You might want to phone Dr P as you are a patient of his and seek his recommendations. Are you sure the cold sweats are not hormonal? Have you had your sex hormones tested recently?

Mo

You could be right. I'll try a 1/2 grain increase.

Sheila

I've given up trying to get test results from my GP....in any case I

only ever get TSH levels so I'd rather go with how I feel. I'm about

to send Dr P my 6 week diary so I'll see what he says.

Thanks

Penny

Hi Penny

I am a nail technitian and from the sound of your nail problem I would

say it could be a fungle infection. Go and see your pharmasist and

they may be able to help you.

Frances and

Thanks for that

.....the 6 weeks has flown by. Are you feeling any better?

Frances.....I don't think it's fungal? The nail hasn't changed colour

and there's no pain. It's just stopped growing at the nail bed. I've

also noticed that above the point where it's stopped there's a number

of vertical ridges. I haven't banged it or damaged it in any way. Any

ideas?

Thanks

Penny

Hi Penny

Here is a link to a web siteabout fungle infections of the nail.

http://www.pharmj.com/pdf/cpd/pj_20060520_fungalnail.pdf

The area can get red and tender around the nail. It also can get itchy

and in some cases bleed. The nail itself usually gets thicker with

grooves and white spots.

Debris gets trapped under the nail bed and the nail gets detached.

Nails affected by fungus thicken and develop abnormal grooves, lines

and holes

Those suffering from diabetes, circulatory problems or weakened immune

system are at a higher risk of contracting nail fungus.

I would advise you to get it looked at in any case as if it is an

infection and not treated it could spread to other nails.

Hope this helps

Regards Frances

> I think I am slightly better, hard to tell sometimes! I am treating

my adrenal with HC now, have been for nearly 2 weeks and I think that

is helping, I have been off all thyroid meds for 3 weeks now in order

to do that, I am restarting it again tomorrow. I truely believe my

adrenals were the problem.
