Guest guest
Dear Sharon, Thanks for asking. No, I have not investigated " whiplash " issues for years. But, I can say, that I have a friend that is convinced that the source of my fibromyalgia issues, is my whiplashes. I don't know, could be true. Thanks again, nah
Guest guest
Dear Respondant, Whiplash is an injury which changes neck structure. Normally, the neck has a bannanna-like shape with the curve to the front. Whiplash rips and tears the neck ligaments, esp. the posterior ones which disallows the neck its original shape. Post-whiplash, the neck is straight or the curve is reversed. The medics and PTs have little success because they focus on exercise and pain relief AKA medical drug addiction. The trick with whiplash is to restore FORM and normal function, including no headaches and no numb hands . . . will follow. We have had ongoing success with a new FDA approved instrument called the Pro-Adjuster. This corrects, little by little, the injury and the " military " neck. Fortunately, only chiropractors have this instrument and I think that the Pro Adjuster has a web site and hopefully, a doctor list. Best of fortune . . . I don't know, could be true. Some people develop fibromyalgia after physical trauma such as a car accident. Anything that messes up your energy flow can do it. I would get yourself checked out for bone misalignment (beyond what MD's will recognize) with a good chiropractor that does all joints, not just the neck or neck and spine (or use an osteopath if you prefer). You may also benefit from massage including connective tissue work. If the accident(s) didn't cause the FMS, they certainly could be aggrevating it. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, just to follow up, my endo did call me this afternoon.I told him about my whiplash and my meds not working and the lump in my neck. He said that the chances of whiplash effecting my thyroid were 'extremely remote', however he is sending me for a blood test and to get ultrasound on my thyroid............ julia
Guest guest
Well - tell your Endo. to do a little research and he will see that damage to the thyroid is extremely common in a whiplash injury - is it any wonder we have little faith in the knowledge claimed by such endocrinologists. Let me guess, your particular Endo. is a specialist in Diabetes. However, it is good that he is sending you for blood tests (make sure you get the FULL thyroid function test and that he has recommended an ultrasound of your thyroid.
