Guest guest
It looks like it is iodine only. Lugols is iodine and iodide. You need both for various parts of your body. Thyroid uses iodide and breast uses iodine (for example). steph Iosol > , > I need to know if you think this is ok to take instead of the Lugol's. > I am losing my source and will be spending the next 6 mo. out west in > an area that I will only be able to receive by mail anything that I > take if I am not stocked up before we leave in 2 weeks. > I found this product at > http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1 & pid=4785 & at=0 > Winnie > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > >

Guest guest
My local vitamin and supplement shop tried to sell me Iosol today. They told me it was a healthier form of iodine. I didn't buy but am curious about it. Anyone? Guest guest
Iosol is not like Lugol's or Iodoral. It is a VERY weak form of iodine only. It does not have iodide as Lugol's and Iodoral do. Guest guest
I wouldn't say no good. Just not as much as you could be doing. Liquid is more difficult to get since the DEA put restrictions on how much can be purchased. You can get it at www.jcrows.com and www.amazon.com I know. There are more options in the files of the group. I recently went through and updated all the sources there. Iosol My local vitamin and supplement shop tried to sell me Iosol today. Guest guest
Nai,It would take you a lot of Iosol to get to the dosages that I have heard recommended on this group for breast cancer. (Iosol II is 1.8mg per drop compared to 2% Lugol's at 2.5mg/drop or 5% Lugol's at 6.25mg/drop.) It is also more expensive than the Lugol's. However, this is just a layman's guess, but if higher doses of Lugol's is bothering her, that may be the case no matter what iodine/iodide product she uses. It takes a lot of processing in the body to work through the healing the iodine is trying to do. Was it effective for the health condition you used it for? May I know what dosage or how many drops of it are necessary for fighting breast cancer? Guest guest
Lugol's formula is recommend for those with breast cancer. You can take it in several forms as many companies have come out with their own products. They are all listed in the Guide to Supplementing. For cancer patients the recommended dosages can be as high as 200 - 300 mgs / day. At 1830 micrograms you are going to need many many bottles and it is VERY expensive compared to Iodoral or Lugol's liquid. I took 125 mgs at my highest to eliminate thyroid cancer. Taking Iosol for BC would be like trying to clean a semi with a toothbrush.
