Guest guest
Hi, I haven't been on the forum for a while. I was just wondering whether anyone had any ideas about coping when returning to work. I started work again earlier this week, after a 2 1/2 year absence due to thyroid related hassles. I've probably only got a few weeks work with a previous employer, so I don't want to do badly because I love this workplace, however my memory is shot (I have to keep copious notes and forget things I am told) and I keep wanting to go to sleep due to exhaustion. When I worked for them before I was really on the ball, worked quickly and had a pretty sharp mind. Now I'm forgetting things that they tell me and I'm taking ages to do simple tasks. I've also been offered a small amount of work with another mob, so I want to do a good job for them too. I really want to do well. Does anyone have any ideas about how they cope with working while suffering from thyroid related symptoms AND/OR does anyone have some useful hints about staying awake through the day? I don't have caffeine in my diet, so coffee is out of the question re trying to stay awake. Hope someone has been in a similar situation and can offer some suggestions.
