Guest guest
Just returned for the long awaited Doctors appointment. My last blood test results were Free T4 15.6 (13.0 - 23) TSH 1.94 (0.30 - 4.20) The doc said that I definately do not have Hypothyriodism because my test results are middle of the recommended level, despite all of the symptoms I outlined in my letter. She would not entertain doing T3 or T4 tests but has agreed to B12. Ferritin and Vitamin D3 tests. Apparently Adrenal fatigue doesn't exist so this couldn't possibly be the cause of my symptoms either. When I asked her what could be causing the symptoms she suggested that I had read the list somewhere and had adjusted my real symptoms to suit the list!!! I am rather annoyed as you can imagine. Especially as if she had read back in my medicall notes for the pass 5 years she would see just about every symptom at some point over the years. I can't really afford to go private although I intend to try the bicarb thing for the Candida to see if it works and I have started taking Vitamin C - up to 5000 a day so far without any adverse effects. Does magnesium help Dry eyes cause this is something that is worsening by the day really and I need to try and do something about it, if so how much??? What else can I do to try and lessen my symptoms? Thanks for your help Anne
Guest guest
The first thing I would do Anne is to find yourself another doctor. You do not have to stay with such a doctor who obviously doesn't have the knowledge or experience to help you get your health back. If you want to do it the easy way, simply write to your local Primary Care Trust and tell them you do not have any faith or trust in your present doctor and please could they find you another one in your locality. This happened to me - only my GP kicked me out when I wanted them to prescribe Armour for me, my local PCT found a doctor down the road who immediately told me that as my endocrinologist had recommended Armour, they would of course abide by his wishes, and prescribed me Armour within the NHS. You should take 200 mcgs Selenium daily with food and check out the nutrients and supplements recommended in our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk luv - Sheila Just returned for the long awaited Doctors appointment. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice Sheila Should I start taking the suppliments now or wait until I have my blood test for B12 etc next week? If i start now could it affect the results? Can I also clarify my test results of Free T4 15.6(13.0-23.0) and TSH 1.94 (0.30 - 4.20) are these figures normal as my doc suggests? Guest guest
Hi Anne There is no reason for you not to start the supplements now - they won't affect your blood results. Your FT4 and TSH are fine, but your TSH needs to be kept an eye on as people usually feel better with their TSH at 1.0. Did your GP test to see if you have thyroid antibodies?
