Antibodies and T4

,

Afraid you may be wrong on this one.... The antibodies which attack the thyroid

stop it producing hormones. If you take the missing hormones, namely thyroxine

and liothyronine (T3 and T4) then you do, to some extent replace the hormones

you are missing. The antibodies still keep on attacking the thyroid, until it

is totally unable to function.

I have read somewhere on this forum that selenium ( or it might have been

magnesium) can reduce the antibody count. My own count a couple of months ago

was 1737. I've been taking selenium (200mg) for 3 weeks now, never having taken

it before. Will post on here if the count is reduced when I next have a test.

treatment with L/thyroxine would reduce them, he said he could not

understand how T4 could make this happen.

the doctor he is incorrect, if he is of course.
