Guest guest Posted April 20, 2009 Report Share Posted April 20, 2009 , Afraid you may be wrong on this one.... The antibodies which attack the thyroid stop it producing hormones. If you take the missing hormones, namely thyroxine and liothyronine (T3 and T4) then you do, to some extent replace the hormones you are missing. The antibodies still keep on attacking the thyroid, until it is totally unable to function. I have read somewhere on this forum that selenium ( or it might have been magnesium) can reduce the antibody count. My own count a couple of months ago was 1737. I've been taking selenium (200mg) for 3 weeks now, never having taken it before. Will post on here if the count is reduced when I next have a test.
