I'm not an expert or a physician, but I have found Hussman's site

very, very, helpful. Please visit his site at:

http://www.hussman.org/fitness/index.htm

You will need to know you Bodyfat percentage in order to calcualte

your caloric intake in order to lose BF.

Good luck-

Dawn

Hiya :) Since your goal weight is 120, I'd suggest that you eat

between 1200 and 1440.. I'd think that 2500 would be way too high. Are you

hitting your tens? How are your meals going? How long have you been doing

BFL?

Hi ~

2500 calories is ok if you want to bulk up! LOL

but not for someone that is your height and weight. The calories that you

are trying to aim for, 1200 is fine and I don't think this is the problem as

why you hit a plateu. Are you taking free days? do you go totally nuts on

them? do you drink alcohol on them as well? What about your water amount?

how much do you drink in a day and do you compensate the amount of coffee or

soft drinks that you drink with extra water? How does your daily meals

usually look like are there a lot of over processed carbs in them or are

they mostly the fruits and starchy veggies that Bill states in his book? Do

you do bars and shakes? how many in a day?

Any of these things can be the caused of the stalled progress for you, not

starvation mode. According to Hussman these days even if you under eat you

should still see a weight loss, but you will be loosing muscle as well. He

says that a lot of people are using his BMR calculator to justify eating

more when they have stalled progress or a plateu. Instead of looking at the

types of food choices they make or how much they eat on free day. Eating

thousands of extra cals on free day can eliminate the calorie deficit that

you created during the week. Free days are great if you keep them in

moderation~for instance instead of eating a full bag of extra butter

microwaved popcorn you eat say a cup or 2 of it instead. Or instead of

eating 6 chocolate chip cookies you stop at 2. See what I mean? Have what

you are craving for during the week but limit yourself to how much and make

sure you are drink lots of water on free day as well to help flush out all

of the extra carbs that most consume on free day.

Hope this helps :0)

  • 6 years later...

I'm been reading varying opinions about when to take the iodoral and if

it should be taken with or without certain vitamins/minerals. I'm so

confused now and don't know what I should be doing.

Before breakfast and about an hour after I've taken my westhroid, I

juice a lemon to drink and then drink some juiced vegetables/apple

after that for my liver. What is the verdict? Does Vitamin C (in the

form of the vitamin or fruit/juice) effect the iodine negatively?

Does taking calcium and magnesium compete for absorption with iodine

and should not be taken within two hours of taking Iodoral?

Are there are research articles that support anyone's thoughts or

opinions?

Thanks.

Laurie
