Guest guest
Message from testimonials From: mitchlyk_2000@... testimonials From: mitchlyk_2000@... Date: Wed, 25 Apr 2001 18:54:52 -0000 Subject: [testimonials] AIDS Hi everyone, Wanted to thank all of you for this group. I joined at the recommendation of one of the members in a " Cancer Victors " group I attended a few weeks ago. I am a person who was diagnosed with " full-blown AIDS " back in 1993 and having seen so many of my friends follow the traditional medical route (and subsequently die), I decided to pursue a naturopathic means of treating myself. At the advice of a guy who had " successfully " been dealing with his situation for several years (since the late 80's) - and who is today perfectly healthy and totally free of any indication of AIDS or HIV - I began a series of naturopathic regimens. And I too, now almost 8 years later am healthier than I have ever been in my life! Thanks both to him, his suggestions, my own studies, and my unwillingness to believe that the doctors were working in our best interests. The sadness is that I have lost many, many, many dear friends over the years who were in a mind-set that " if there were a cure, don't you think the medical profession would be promoting it? " How brain- washed some people can be - and how much pain and suffering that same brain-washing by the media and the medical profession has caused over the years. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for being here. I have told my story time and again to Cancer Victors groups, Wellness Centers, etc. and it is only from them that I receive strong support of my ideals. The doctors don't seem to want to even let me in their doors anymore (guess they are afraid I will interfere with them making their boat payments). Anyway, thanks for your purpose... Guest guest
>Doctors really don't want anyone to discover how to stay well. They're >terrified of going broke if we stop getting sick. Oh, I hear this a lot...but I think that this line of thought gives the impression that these doctors really *know* this *secret*, and are hiding it. Few do. Doctors I know are too wrapped up in paperwork, protocol and the often misplaced priorities of the faceless companies that own the HMO's, hospitals, and all, to really be able to spend time thinking like this. A very good doctor I knew in New Mexico, Matt , was stripped of his hospital privileges years ago because his low income clinic did not raise enough money for him to buy malpractice insurance. I dealt with dozens of doctors while taking care of my father after his many strokes. Most were clueless about anything they were not specifically trained to do. I talk about plants and plant medicine all the time when I can...and many were interested in what I had to say. I was surprised. But they still practiced what they had been trained to do. They are all cogs in a system larger than themselves. They do their jobs. We may disagree with their methods, and with the system that exists. But I just cannot believe that any of them have any desire that people remain sick to suit their self interests. I think they really are too busy for this. I think that a less cynical way to view doctors is to see them as very focussed on what they know how to do...and to then attempt to find openings to expand their horizons, their focus. Of course, there are many who possess the classic deaf ear...I do pass them by, and try to avoid them. But then again, I am just an observer on the medical scene. My weed eating keeps me in perfect health..... (by the way...someone asked me months ago how to make black walnut tincture with their stored and dried walnut hulls....I forgot your name, but you really should just eat these, and make tincture with the green hulls in late summer, early fall) ;-) Joanie

The very best medical schools devote only 5% of the curriculum to nutrition, hygiene and prevention combined. Guest guest
Hi Joanie, I'm not the one who asked how to make walnut hull tincture, but I have been wanting to find out. Could you give a brief lesson? I just planted two black walnut trees for the long haul and have access to mature trees until these start producing. How do I make the tincture? What dose at this strenth would be typical for a parasite cleanse? Guest guest
Oh, hi Vince... Sure, but not tonight. I just got in (almost midnight) and am just too tired to think, and am out again in the morning to Maine for a meeting with a bunch of women in my wild foods group... But I will try to get to it in the next few days. Basically, though, I slice very fresh green (black) walnuts, that are not quite ripe and hard enough to be too hard to chop with my knife, into a mixture of Everclear and vodka (need to look up the proportions of alcohol to water that is most optimal) in about late August or September...so nothing can be done until then, here in New England, at least. I have only used this externally, at this point...on ringworm and similar skin fungusy things...internally I tend to prefer teas...so i could only tell you what dosages others have used. But, gotta go now....catch you later...Joanie >Hi Joanie, >I'm not the one who asked how to make walnut hull tincture, but I have been >wanting to find out. Could you give a brief lesson? Guest guest
Joanie, Thanks so much for your willingness to help. I'll save you the trouble of following up on this if you want. As Leo reminded me, I have Dr. 's " Cure for all Diseases " and it has the walnut hull tinctue recipe in it. I'll get the walnuts green, and here in South Alabama it will probably be earlier than there in New England. Wish I knew someone with your knowledge close to me who could tour me around my newly aquired 30 acres of hardwoods and weeds. I just beleive there are some good plants which I could use if I only know more about them.... For instance, several thistle plants are blooming right now, and I believe some of them are milk thistle. They match the picture and discription in my herb book. I've got to look into the recipe to use them next year when I have some more time. So long. Guest guest
oh, hi...sorry I procrastinate. I will look in the copy of the book I have and see what it says, and add to it if I think helpful. If you have a scanner, you can always scan the plants you are not sure of, or pictures of them, and I can see if I can id them Best when in flower, or course. Though Alabama's plants are not all familiar to me, I find that I can usually identify about 90% of anything found in temperate regions..especially the weeds. What herb book do you have? Some are better than others at presenting a comprehensive assortment of plants, others present only a few, and that is when one can get in trouble with misidentification. Milk thistle is distinctive because of its mottled green and white leaves. I have never seen it grow wild up here, though...I will see what i can do about finding its native range. There are a lot of thistles out there. Most, if not all, of them are edible, at least, so would not do harm if it were a different species..of thistle, anyway. Related to artichokes, i have stripped the stems and eaten the pith raw. The seed is what one tinctures into milk thistle extract. For plant identification, you can always call the local extension service. If you have a local enough one, you can just bring them the plants you need to have identified. if you are far away, you can press them and dry them and send them that way...but that can be tedious and not always as good as fresh plant material. At least I identified plants for people in New Hampshire all the time that way. Good luck. Joanie ~~~ >Joanie, Thanks so much for your willingness to help.
