Vj, welcome to the group. You may want to read up on the symptoms of

bromide detox just in case you encounter some of them:

Go here and read what symptoms it includes

Nascent is very different from Lugol's formula. It is "energized". Maybe try a different form like Lugol's.

new to iodine

Hello,

I am new to iodine. Purchased nacsent iodine. Put just 2 drops in a bottle of water and began to feel "off balance" and shaky inside. Should I discontinue? Maybe it is not for me.

Thanks much,

Misa

No it is in the way it is made. It is very low milligram dose but they "energize" it somehow. I think the info is in the files. Not many use it so I don't have a lot of info on it. Lugol's formula in liquid or Iodoral tablets is what I recommend and commonly used here.

Read his book. It will answer many of your questions and make you understand why you need to be concerned with the milligrams.

I started Iodine over a week ago and I definitely feel better, I haven't read

too much yet about how I should increase and what to watch out for but having my

energy levels on the floor for two years I am just so grateful to feel better,

everyone has noticed that I look better, Im taking four drops each day.

Woohoo, why do Endo's not tell us about Iodine?

Another question - is iodine use related at all to alkalizing diets? It seems that is supposed to be helpful to. I guess I'm trying to see what the relationship is among my top three interests in preventing cancer from returning: iodine use, alkalizing diet, and use of ingesting food grade hydrogen peroxide. (Thanks to and for getting back to me. I opened the page/ doc. and will read them both after I get through Sunday. My son is graduating from high school and the party is Sunday. (Welcome - glad you found us. I put together a quick reference sheet here Commonly asked questions: http://tinyurl.com/yhnds5e Look for the new member document.Dr. Brownstein's book on Iodine is a good start to learn more. Oncologists do not know about ioidne. The test to check iodine levels are in the file I just linked you to. Please note that I have not updated it to reflect that FFP no longer offers testing to outside *public* You will need to use Hakala Labs.Hi -- You may have seen that iodine is required by the body for cell apoptosis. So proper iodine levels are essential to keep cancer away. Oncologists don't know this. It will be up to you to take this on, unless you find an integrative-medicine MD.The thing is, iodine will only help you, so there's no harm.About hydrogen peroxide. If you want to try it, research it thoroughly, but it won't take the place of iodine. The body absolutely requires almost 7mg a day, and 85% of the world's population is iodine deficient. For cr patients it is recommended to go to 100mg/day. Our environment is saturated in bromines, which displaces iodine in the body and causes dysfunctions. Iodine supplemented at higher levels will knock the bromines off the cell receptors and take its rightful place on the receptors, leading to health. You'll want the full range of companion nutrients. Steph's website talks about beating thyroid cr via the iodine protocol. http://www.naturalthyroidchoices.com/wishing you most well.-- New to iodineI've recently finished chemo and radiation for breast cancer(stage 3). I had unrelated colon cancer last year (stage 1). I was surprised by cancer because I'm a "healthy" eater/ runner/ 50 y.o. woman. I'm still kinda tired to start doing all the reading I need to so I can prevent anymore cancer. What little reading I've done, seems I need to go with iodine. Are there any quick reads/ or advice? For instance - which blood tests do I ask my doctor to order? What do they mean? Do regular oncologists order iodine? Or is that all up to me?
