Guest guest
has again been inspired to write a proposed amendment for the authorization legislation for the West Virginia Board of Medicine, and to ask them to send him a copy so that he can do this. He believes that this amendment will apply in the UK in the same way. However, amendments have to be dovetailed into the existing legislation and for us to do this, we will need a copy from the GMC. I will write to them tomorrow with this request to purpose an amendment via my MP. As explained, this amendment does two things. It gives physicians a vehicle to ask guideline authors for clarification (that could be interesting) and it places a demand upon physicians to not terminate medical investigations with "non-specific symptoms" or "functional somatoform disorders" or the equivalent, without exhaustively eliminating all physical possibilities known to medical science. Slowly, slowly.... Luv - Sheila
