I don't take ATP CoFactors - my husband does. But he does take it with his Iodoral and Vit C with breakfast and that is perfectly fine.

I take all these together:

100 mgs Iodoral

B Complex

DMG / Folate

Multi Vitamin

MSM

Vit D3

Vit C Complex (Mg/Ca/K/C)

, when you take your Iodoral in the morning with food...do you also take your ATP Cofactors with it at the same time and any other vitamins you might take? Is it okay to take Vitamin C at the same time one takes Iodoral? I seem to remember reading some controversy about whether it was okay to take it at the same time. Thank you,Kathleen

After reading your question and Steph's answer, I did a quick experiment to find out for myself. I, too, had questions about taking Vitamin C at the same time as Iodine. I'd read that Vitamin C neutralizes/nullifies Iodine. There's a proper term for it, but I can't think of it now.

With all due respect, Steph insists it's okay to take Vit C at the same time as Iodine because Dr. Brownstein says it's okay. Personally, I take my Iodine in the morning and the Vit C in afternoon or evening.

The experiment: 2 droppers full of Lugol's Iodine in a clear glass, poured in some asorbic acid powder and within seconds the staining Iodine is as clear as water from a babbling brook.

So, that's why I take Vit C later in the day and not at the same time as Iodine.

But remember that if you are taking Iodoral it is formulated differently in that it is designed to make it to the small intestine w/o breaking down. I think that is the difference with Lugol's liquid. It is not just Dr Brownstein that says it is OK by the way.

interesting. So you think that because the vitamin C neutralizes the colour, it also somehow neutralizes the potency of the Lugols? I am taking Iodoral which is supposed to make it to the small intestine, so perhaps its okay to take the vitamin C with that since it is not a liquid like the Lugols.

Besides making the Iodine completely clear, I don't know what else it does chemically...seeing that is enough for me, since I take Lugol's which is in liquid form. I don't mind taking the Vitamin C later in the day or in the evenings.

I wish there was some definitive factual documentation on the issue.
