I am devastated by Shelia's news. When I wrote that it was like

medieval times in a post the other day - I thought we would have been

burnt as witches - and now we are! After armour started working for me

and I felt healthier I did stop it and try levothyroxine again,

wondering if my body, functioning better, could use it. I was v.

poorly again pretty quickly - I'd only been better for a few months on

the armour, not years - but I had the combo of increased hypo symptoms

and overdose of T4. Thing is - everyone has a different body and will

need different help. And we ain't even started on treating adrenals.

I've fought for equity of treatment, and treatment at all in some

cases, in the mental health system. I had a little training at Bristol

Cancer Help Centre and think their holistic approach is needed and

appropriate to many other health conditions. I didn't want to end up

fighting for thyroid care but I have never seen a consolidated attack

on an alternative form of treatment by so many bodies. (Bristol did

get trashed when doing research with 2 cancer charities, they used

working together to try to destroy their work but they survived it - n

2 charities ain't all these guys and the government).

There is some severe politics and money things going on here, that we

aren't privy too. This is too weird - and the thought that we should

all get ill to prove that armour is more effective? A. We have B. Lots

of patients are already in that boat now. C. How wrong - plus stats

can be used any which way and discounted if people have already made

up their mind to take a certain course of action.

The right to life is one of our core rights, let alone not having to

put up with cruel and unusual treatment. Well I'm up for a scrap - I

kept blithely thinking that we'd just catch up with adrenal and armour

treatment like that in the States in 10 or 20 years. The powers that

be attacking a bunch of sick people. Shame on them. Man, just before I

was going to try and get a prescription - and with all my other health

problems I do not need this kind of stuff in my relationship with my GP.
