It's easy to treat if you are willing to forego all carbohydrates except

super-low carb items like green leaf veg, mushrooms and red/green

peppers for a couple weeks - and to eat an anti-inflammtory diet in all

other ways. (See books by Dr Perricone for what's

anti-inflammatory and it will keep you healthy after that too.)

This works because the little critters starve if you do not feed them

sugar (carbs). It's your blood-sugar that feeds them. Keep it 100 or

less and they die.

My homeopath says that Candida is a liver problem - I know it is in the gut, but

he says it is a symptom of liver problems, and if you sort out the diet and

liver issues, then it will go.

It certainly makes sense for me, as I have liver issues and going off diet

brings up allsorts of issues skin-wise, some of which are signs of candida, but

are also 'ALL' signs of liver problems and stress.

Homeopath?

Homeopathy is about matching homeopathic remedies at an energetic level,

to the energy that is out of whack in the individual needing help - so

no properly trained homeopath would suggest that a fungus infection was

a liver problem.

Maybe some other alternative health person, not a homeopath.

Homeopaths know better, and know that the cause of an issue - Candida or

any other issue - is individual and is different in different people.

> - I know it is in the gut

Whose gut?

Candida is a fungus - it can grow anywhere in the body - maybe the gut,

maybe somewhere else, vagina being a common place. It likes a moist place.

> but he says it is a symptom of liver problems, and if you sort out

the diet and liver issues, then it will go.

He's guessing.

Candida eats glucose which will be in the blood for any number of

reasons ranging from poorly controlled diabetes to insulin resistance,

to obesity to a liver converting muscle to glucose because someone is

not eating enough protein - to simply eating too many carbohydrates.

For MOST people - good chance there's nothing wrong with the liver and a

lot wrong with the diet.

Which is the cause in a specific person, varies.

The bottom line is to stop having too much glucose in the blood, and

also to ensure the cells are not in an inflamed state. Diet can address

those things.

According to????

Stress is not felt in the liver either, it is an issue of adrenal

hormone balance and diet top sustain that balance. The liver is not

involved.

Hi - I am still not sure what you meant, sorry. the liver is

stressed by?????

Your prior words, I read them again but they do nto add up to me:

" I have liver issues and going off diet brings up allsorts of issues

skin-wise, some of which are signs of candida, but are also 'ALL' signs

of liver problems and stress. "

Assuming you mean " liver stress " at the end there, it still does not

make sense.

The liver is involved in digestion and detoxification after eating

something toxic (not something non blood type - that is not toxic, it

has agglutinins at worst, which affect gut absorption or immune system

not liver) - but not in absorption of nutrients. If you are off the type

O diet, it is the absorption in the gut that is affected mainly.

Liver is stressed if you consume toxins in quantity - for example too

much alcohol is toxic too the liver and so are many drugs.

Wow! no wonder you are ill.

Soy destroys your immune system by destroying your thymus gland, the

seat of Th-1 cytokine manufacture and skews it to Th-2 cytokine

manufacture (excess antibodies, allergies, you name it) thus

predisposing all kinds of chronic disease - among other soy problems caused!

Soy will do nothing good for your muscles!

For muscles eat proper animal protein and take a glutamine supplement.

I have not been very good diet-wise lately as I have simply had life over-take

me and had so many appts for different things here, there and everywhere that

food either got missed out of I had to try and grab the 'least bad offender'

from the best shop I could find where I was at the time.

I have been doing some liver detoxing and my liver has been

weakened/stressed/damaged from years of substance abuse which ended about 4 yrs

ago when I got a BIG shock with my skin yellowing. I don't know if this is long

enough ago for it to have recovered [as much as it will], but these things do

crop up very quickly without me cheating much - I know cheating should not

happen, but I seem to have a lot less options open to me than you do diet-wise

in the states and it doesn't help, being in a pretty rural location with only 1

supermarket near me for food and limited resources whilst my family are still

young, and sometimes life does get in the way.

I have skin itching, itching rashes, symptoms where I have skin peeling

inbetween toes, verrucaes - all have started and gone from right to left sides

of the body. Also rough skin on my thumb on the right side.

These all crop up when my diet goes astray, all settle when I am 'good' apart

from the skin in-between my toes and verrucaes [v. small, one on each foot -

these only started up when I was doing the liver detox which was obviously diet

alongside the remedies of berberis & chelidonium] plus exercise.

Does this explain for you better where I was coming from ?

I might just add to clarify, that I did the liver detox and finished it a few

months ago, before my recent 'straying from the diet ' occasions and resulting

symptoms.

Tell your " guru " to read the research. Apparently he/she has not done so

yet. Heat changes nothing. It's the protein type that is wrong and does

the damage and protein is not destroyed by heat.
