Cristi....

I was just looking at her pictures again this morning. I think shes the one

of the recent challenge that I've picked that is most inspiring to me

(probably because I look more like her befores! LOL).

The top is definately different as you can tell by the straps, but I think

the bottoms are the same. Girl definately shouldn't have been wearing those

bottoms before! hehe.. but it illustrated the point beautifully.

Can someone tell me if it is ok to put about a tablespoon of your favorite fragrance in your bath water? I dont think there would be a problem seeing we put it in soap and bath salts. Just wanted to check. Thanks kathy

Good question but one that I don't have an answer for. We'll have to wait

for some of the girls to answer that.

How's it going, anyways? What have you been doing lately and how's the hand?

Are you able to do any soaps with it yet?

Hi Kathy,

I do this all the time...don't think it's quite a full tablespoon as I usually just put enough into scent the water and make the room smell nice, but if your running a full tub there shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I can warn you about is the oil tends to stick to the sides of the tub the way a bath oil would and can leave a nice ring to clean up after :)

Well, Heidi, it would appear, according to Merriam-Webster that it can be

pronounce she or shay but not she-ah. I am assuming that you said it

correctly and that you have the sad misfortune to be dealing with someone who

likes to belittle " the common folk " , and usually don't know what they're

talking about. If that's the case, then shame on her. I am pasting what I

pulled off the internet but don't know if it will post to the list. If not

Heidi,

Don't feel stupid! Everyone pronounces the same words differently. I've

always pronounced it Shay.

Hi Heidi;

Don't feel stupid, I have a so called friend who is a member of the

metaphysical group that I belong to , and she is constantly correction my

pronounciation of different words. At first it bothered me, but now I just

let it slide off as in my opinion these people are just trying to make you

think that they are a little bit smarter, but in truth they are showing

their insecuity by what they are doing.

Not to be a party pooper or any thing, but it's going to depend on the density

of the powder. It should be about 1/5 teaspoon if the number I am reading is

1/20th of an ounce. I'm short on coffee and am not sure of the .20

> How much water should one drink per day?

I believe it is 8 to 10, 8 ounce glasses a day so that would mean 64

to 80 ounces a day. I don't nomrally have a trouble getting it all

in. Normally the more the better unless there are heart issues

(congestive heart failure and such).

You're okay, that does not sound like mold, it's just brown ooglies.

I have them in my kombucha all the time.

I second what said.

I'm quite convinced you do not have mold.

I get those streamer-like slimy things very often.

Don't be tempted to wash them off with water. Water neutralises

the acidity of your culture and lays them open to mold.

You can wriggle them in a bit of your KT after brewing has finished

and then strain the liquid out (not to waste it).

Or you can clean the scoby with a bit of distilled vinegar.

Take heart, your brew sounds very active and just fine.

BTW, there is no such thing as a stupid question!! :-)

I've noticed that when I use cane sugar (sugar in the raw, Zulka

brand " Azucar Morena " ) I get more brown " ooglies " ('s

words). I stick to the cheap white crystal sugar in the store and

seem to get the best results with that. However, I've only brewed a

dozen batches over a few months so I'm still a relative novice.

The brown bits are just part of the culture, is how I see it. Avoiding

them would be like saying I don't want all the possible benefits of the

kombucha. It seems to me.

He should not get live vaccines at all . He will not get vaccines at all once he

is on Gammaglobulin. GREAT Question!!! Yes and my son always got very sick with

vaccines. You can sign a waiver as well as the immuno should be telling your

primary not get give vaccines.

stupid question

I have a stupid question .... I'm sure it has probably been covered before, but

I don't know, since I'm new to all of this. Jayden is coming up on his annual

yearly " well visit " and I'm sure he's due come new vaccines and such ... ok, so

since he doesn't build titers to them, should I even bother getting them for

him??? They always make him sick, and they obviously don't hold ... what do you

guys do???

Deska, I would say if he's starting IVIG, no vaccines. Double check

with your immuno.

Please don't be surprised if your pediatrician still pushes the

vaccines. We have an excellent pediatrician, he just doesn't get the

whole " PID " and " IVIG " /no vaccine thing. He asks me every year if

Mark should be vaccinated. Used to freak me out (isn't he the

doctor?) but I've learned it's one of those areas where you might

need to be the educator! :)

If Jayden stars IVIG, your immunologist should make it known to every Dr. Jayden

sees.

When Blake started, we were told that he did NOT need any vaccines & should NOT

receive any. He told me that if the school asks if he is immunized, all we had

to do is  say " YES " , if they ??? it, then they can contact him & he would take

care of it!!!

Blake's Pediatrician, Pulmonologist,Hem/Onc Drs, ENT's and therapist Drs. were

ALL aware of the start of IVIG and not one o them questioned the IVIG from there

on out.....straight up, he NEEDS it he was getting it...

We had one Dr. the Infectious Disease Dr. was not aware or he acted plain out

" stupid " & wanted Blake to be vaccinated, I really think he wanted Blake to

" have an immune system " & thought that giving a vaccine to proove it would

help..... but I told him I had to ask his Immunologist  & the Immunologist sat

down called the ID & told him that in no way was Blake to be immunized due to

the fact he is getting IVIG. that ended th question of Immunizations as well as

the vaccines!!!

In Blake's case we can not even do the Flu shots....he is allergic to one of the

components of the vaccine(takes after mom!!).

Mom ot Blake, 16 Sever Combined Immuno Deficiency with Complete T-Cell

Dysfunction...other issues but too many to list!!!!

thats not a stupid question, its a good one!! and one I asked at the

outset, as well. Our ID dr says no vaccines, as long as the kids are

on IVIG, and the reason is bc they will get those antibodies in the

IVIG product, so vaccinating them while their on it would be redundant....

I did have a little hassle at school last yr, bc it was Brennans first

yr in school, I had to have a couple papers filled out by our ID

dr--the regular health dept form didnt have a check for this

particular reason, after all, its not that they ARENT getting the

antibodies.....they are just getting them a different way.

This yr, we're starting at a new school, and Im not looking forward to

having to explain it all over again there!:)
