Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I put my tpa forum email address to the Blackpool Gazette so I don't know why it bounced. I put my mobile number but I was remembering it rather than looking it up to confirm it - so I probably got it wrong. I was at work and doing it all in a rush. Sorry you had the bother but I hope it all turned out ok. Guest guest
Hi It turned out on examination that the address you had used was from .com and your email address for the forum was .co.uk. I told Craig this and he checked and yes, your email to them was definitely from .com. All sorted now and he told me that my letter will be appearing in the Blackpool Gazette on Monday next. I hope the somebody in the BTA lives in that area and reads it. I have suggested that the Editor should ask the BTA for their comments as to why they have still not updated their information on their statement on Armour after being given the FACTS almost 9 months ago. Whether he will or not, we will wait and see. If anybody else wants to write to the Editor regarding the article Pen posted last week, please do so and let them know what you think of the BTA continuing misleading and incorrect information. luv - Sheila Hi Sheila, I put my tpa forum email address to the Blackpool Gazette so I don't know why it bounced. Guest guest
Hi , Sheila, I tried to open the Attachments and only got a grey screen on picture editor. Guest guest
I believe the Blackpool Gazette are publishing my letter tonight telling them that the BTA are continuing to give out misleading and incorrect information to journalists, doctors and patients and given them the facts. I told the paper that we had already written to BTA asking them to amend their information re Armour, but nine months later, they still had not done so and were still not giving correct information. Hope somebody passes it on to them. No doubt Pen will let us know whether my letter actually was published. Guest guest
BAH ! Perhaps the reporter got back to BTA to ask for their comments and they told the reporter that I'm as mad as a hatter and to pay no regard to what I say. Nothing would surprise me! Luv - Sheila Hi all Just to say there are no responses on tonight's letters page to the article. I'll keep looking and let you know as soon as anything appears. Guest guest
I'm beginning to think that even journalists quake at the very sound of the word thyroid. Their editors appear to be getting more and more scared to print anything that goes against the BTA recommendations. All they will print are good stories about how this little lady was poorly, went to her doc, who did the thyroid function tests - found she was outside the range, gave her the little white pill and hey ho - she got better and could get on with her life again. Anything other than that - they balk. I know, one freelance reporter has been trying desperately to get an article published in the Sunday Time's Style Magazine (over a year now) and although they have promised they will publish, this still hasn't happened, and another journalist is trying to get 's story published but still editors appear reluctant. Seems the whole subject is just too controversial, but they keep trying. Does anybody know which of all the UK National Newspapers is the most likely to print the 'The Great Thyroid Scandal' story - with no holds barred? Luv - Sheila BAH ! Guest guest
Maybe they do not like to publish letters from people who are not in their local circulation area. Lilian
Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I filled the form in on-line too, when you suggested that I did. I more or less put what I put here... I'm afraid I must stick up for what is probably the majority of folks here, in that unfortunately, the reason the doctors get away with treating us the way they do is that hypothyroidism, by it's very nature, makes us weary, often depressed and so as a result, apathetic. If more of us get well on Armour I think they'll have more of a battle on their hands.
