That is why there is a price difference. You may want to ask the other company for an analysis report. I am anal about what I put on my body to make sure it is clean. Just my two cents. But I am wary due to having a cancer dx that I overcame. Magnesium Oil ?? Greetings all. We have carried their product for a long while and it is just much better than the others I have researched and tested. This is a case in which you get what you pay for. And this oil lasts for a long time. Many of the other oils are mixed with water or when you rub them on the skin, they sting. I too am a stickler about what goes on the skin. This is a half gallon jug for $119.00 plus shipping. The half gallon jug is the largest container jug that they have. Sorry, but I did not see any gallon size jug. As soon as I got my jug, I opened it up and sprinkled some of this oil on both arms. At first it felt okay but then as the oil dried, I began to feel uncomfortable since it felt like my skin was suffocating from the supposedly mineral residue that was clogging my pores. I live in the tropics so its already warm here but when I applied the mag oil, it felt like my skin could no longer breath. Not a good feeling at all.After about an hour, I rinsed the stuff off and felt so much better. I really don't know how a product like mag oil can actually be more absorbable when it really feels like its clogging my pores and preventing my skin from absorbing the oil. At 8 sprays of regular strength it says that the oil delivers 100 mgs of elemental magnesium " to the skin. " So if I wanted 400 mgs of elemental magnesium " delivered to the skin " I would have to do 32 sprays at regular strength. It also says that I can dilute it to 50% strength with one part water to one part oil meaning that I would have to do 64 sprays. But my real concern is how much of that elemental magnesium that is " delivered onto the skin " is actually absorbed? Has anyone done a before and after blood test to see if magnesium levels have actually increased by using this product? While the skin can be used to absorb healthy nutrients, it is also used to excrete unwanted toxins. For those of us who live in warm climates where our skin is always excreting toxins through our sweat glands, I think this product might do more harm than good since it seems to block the pores from excreting toxins. Guest guest Posted May 24, 2009 Report Share Posted May 24, 2009 Speaking of docs, I just had an appointment with our naturopathic doctor (he has been in practice here for the last 30 years) last week and when I mentioned the magnesium oil and how I was hoping that it would get absorbed into the body better via the skin vs orally, he actually disagreed and told me that there was no need for me to use the oil.
