Guest guest
I am bumping this message again for . Nobody responded - and I haven't seen it. The search facility isn't working on the Forum - are working on this. Apologies - we will give it another go - but often, there are not many of us around at the weekend. Can you tell me what date you posted this message please so I can go back and look at the messages posted that day. Luv - Sheila I was wondering whether someone could help me please. I took the adrenal stress saliva test in October of last year which showed abnormal variation in cortisol levels. I saw Dr. Chapman in Hendon in North London (He is very knowledgable and helpful. If anyone is interested I can give them his details). He gave me all the adrenal and thyroid supplements he knows of: Nutri Adrenal Extra, Nutri Adrenal, Adrenomax, Liquorice and Gotu-Kola tincture, Thyrocomplex, Nutri Thyroid, Siberian Ginseng and Liquorice tincture, Adreset, DHEA and T-convert. I have just taken the test again and it was hugely worse than the one in October, even though I've been taking all the pills, have a really good diet and am not stressed, etc. The results were as follows: Sample 1: 9.0 nmol/L. Normal range: 12 - 22 Sample 2: 1.5 Normal range: 5 - 9 Sample 3: 0.6 Normal range: 3 - 7 Sample 4: 1.7 Normal range: 1 – 3 Overall: 12.8 Normal range: 21 – 41 I also took the 24 urine thyroid test which came out at 553 pmol/24hr, normal range 800 – 2500. My thyroid gland is working really well: TSH very low, T4 high normal, T3 and RT3 are fine. I have over a dozen severe symptoms of adrenal fatigue and no symptoms that do not come under adrenal fatigue so the diagnosis fits me like a glove. I think it is time for me to take cortisol. Unfortunately Dr. Chapman will not prescribe it except for 's disease. Does anyone know of any doctors in London who would be willing to prescribe cortisol based on my adrenal stress test result? If not, does anyone know of a good place to buy cortisol without prescription? I'm scared of just ordering some over the internet from abroad because it might be dodgy. Thanks in advance for your help. .
Guest guest
Hi hon Has he tested your adrenals at all outside the saliva test? You might be low on NHS tests in which case you should get HC prescribed. Also you might find value in consulting with a CFS consultant, I beleive sometimes they will prescribe it in low doses. Maybe you ACTH levels are low, your pit might be a bit sluggish in stimulating the adrenals, or it may be the adrenals themselves. I know that if they push the adrenals with ACTH unless you are ready to die the test usuallly comes back ok. This doc sounds like an ND? Is he an NHS consultant? lotsa luv Dawnx
