Sorry, this is what 's been doing to about half my emails for the

last few months. I took Scarlet's heavy blanket off on Saturday so now

she's in her '20 degree and higher' Rambo as opposed to the 'it's Artic

out there!' one. She's getting a thicker coat now than ever (she'll be

25 next month) but the boy is starting to shed already! He's just

wearing one blanket and I clipped him before our last competitive trail

ride in October so I don't know why he thinks he should be shedding now;

but shedding he is.

I have to add a small brag here too - I got an email from the ECTRA

(competitive trail ride group) awards chair that we're getting 2 awards

at the annual meeting next month. One I had sort of figured out - it's

a medallion for points earned at the rides this year; but the other one

is a 'special award' and I have no idea what that could be. My mom said

it's for dumping me in the pond at the October ride and winning it

anyway; but I won't find out until the middle of February.

This year I signed us up to be eligible for the Lehigh Valley Dressage

Association Adult team so we need to definitely make it to some shows

this year (I managed to do none last year) and we have the Arabian Horse

Associaton Regional Championship ride at the end of April so I hope I

can keep the fibro to a dull roar.

I know what that means. The layers come off the horses today. Mine are

laye= red up. Oliver has a good coat. Doerte gets almost nothing. Doerte

has a he= avyweight turnout and a Baker blanket underneath and Oliver

has the turnout= too and a nice nylon stable blanket under that. I

still worry but I know t= hat is silly. I have tons of layers for them.

All will not be needed when I= move.=20 I feel so sorry for these deer.

Little things. So cute. I wonder if they we= re freezing? I feed the

birds outside and I always worry that they are cold= in the sub zero

weather. I make sure we have piles on the back part or our= property of

branches and leaves so that the animals have places to go to s= tay warm

and safe.

Enjoy your weather!

Hugs,

Sue

You should know , it doesn't take much to get me to

send pictures LOL. This is Scarlet who's going to be 25 at the end of

February doing her best 'are you done taking pictures yet, I am so bored' look:

And this is the royal goofball

who never stands still for pictures (his name by the way is Tsornin, but his

nickname is Scutch and/or Fabio depending on who you ask):

If it wasn’t for them and

the dogs and cats there are a lot of days when I’m not sure I’d

make it out of bed and I don’t ride as much as I’d like because I

still work full-time and that sucks a lot of energy too but I’m in a

pretty good spot (minus the never ending headache) right now.
