Guest guest
Hi lizzie and Chuck It's often a hypoT symptom because not enough T3 is getting into the cells. Taking T3 is used in the treatment of fibromyalgia with great effect in getting rid of the severe pain. Guest guest
Hi Lizzie, I am on 125 mcg of T4 and this has been increased twice since last Sept (still not feeling right). I have always had problems with my right shoulder and then my right hip and all down my right side since being diagnosed with Thyroid problems. My Thyroid was overactive I had RadioIodine in '97 and since then it has been underactive. I am been extremely low on energy; but forced myself to get out and have some fresh air yesterday, I must have walked for about 1 mile (flat surface) and got a pain in my right hip. Looking back a couple of times recently when I have been out hiking my right hip has hurt afterwards. So, in conculsion my intuition tells me that there is a link here, because it does not seem normal. Guest guest
Hi Alice, The ovum, once fertilised, soon begins to arrange itself into left/right, top/bottom, then, if you're lucky, front/back.....:-) One-sided problems reflect this cellular re-organisation from a once spherical object with no orientation whatsoever, except for inside and outside the cell membrane. best wishes Bob > Hi Lizzie, > I am on 125 mcg of T4 and this has been increased twice since last > Sept (still not feeling right). Guest guest
Hi Lizzie, Yes it can. see http://www.drlowe.com He started his career treatating fibromyalgia which he quickly discovered was due to low thyroid and responded to T3 not T4. You may need to redice/stop the T4 and replace T4 with T3. Interestingly I find that I can tolerate more T4 in Armour than the artificial stuff. > thyroid treatment > From: lassey@...> Date: Tue, 16 Sep 2008 18:52:29 +0000> Subject: T4 and joint pain> > Hi everyone> > I just wondered whether T4 can cause a worsening in joint pain. Guest guest
Hi Lizzie, I'm just speaking from my own experience here, and of course you will need to check with your doctor to make sure this is suitable for you. Only a short while ago (just over a month back? ) I had terrible 'arthritic like' pain in my joints. The pain was so bad that it woke me at night when I tried to bend my fingers. I walked with a pronounced limp and was in constant pain. My doc suggested that I take 9 grams of fish oil capsules each day (I split them into 3 doses - one after each main meal). He also suggested that I try using Boswellia complex (I use the MediHerb brand, but I'm not trying to sell the stuff, but just letting you know so you can look it up to see the ingredients). I still have a little bit of joint pain (very occasionally) but I feel about 95% better than I did. It probably took a few weeks to really kick in, but I noticed a bit of a difference reasonably quickly Magnesium supplements may assist with the leg cramps. By the way, I have no idea whether the joint pain is related to the T4, T3 or whatever. I just know what helped me to get rid of the symptoms. You might want to run all this past your health advisor to ask their opinion about whether it might be suitable for you to try. I just wondered if it could be the T4 causing it (or am I just looking for excuses), I also take 20mcg t3 alongside my T4. Leg cramps now hit and miss as in nit there one day back the next, any ideas as to why that may be? Love Lizzie >
Guest guest
Hi Sheila I do take T3 20mcg as well as T4 and at my last blood test 4 weeks ago T3 was 4.9. Increasing my T4 (assuming I am converting) will mean an increase in T3 blood level so should do the trick. Interestingly my joints feel much better today. Very strange. Guest guest
Hi guys, This is sounding so like me...I am suffering dreadfully from joint and muscle pain and have a vague diagnosis of fibromyalgia (anyone who has read my posts knows that I can't get a straight answer from my doc) It may also explain the fact that when I was only taking T4 I ended up with a high level which went up from 12.6 to 23.4 (range 12-22) with very little change in my T3. Am I correct in thinking then, that perhaps I have a problem in converting? <sheilaturner@...> wrote: > > Hi lizzie and Chuck > > It's often a hypoT symptom because not enough T3 is getting into the cells. Guest guest
The simple answer is yes. What was your last Free T3 reading?
