Guest guest
Dear Friends: You may wonder why I write so many posts / messages that are food / nutritional related. After all this is supposed to be a list for Fibromyalgia and related disorders RIGHT? Ya know the human gut is the most important (to my way of thinking) part of our bodies. If it (THE GUT) is disordered / diseased / out of order / dysfunctional/ poorly fed etc etc etc....... you come up with your own descriptive word...... then the very 'elixer' of life .... the nutrition required, can not and will not get into our organs and muscles and cells. YES of course we need to be imbibing, digesting, taking in ONLY the very best of foods, which when PROPERLY digested, will be broken down into component parts and shuttled around to where it is needed to run the FACTORY which is our body. This will of course stave off hunger, but more importantly it will fuel our cells and restock our energy reserves. Also it will assist with healing / repairing the brokenness within us. There are a few things to consider when we consuming food stuffs. I feel certain that Sue will join with me on this 'bandwagon', and fill in things I have accidentally skipped over. I am trying NOT to write a nutritional dissertation or thesis. YES eat the best possible quality. Learn as much as you can about nutrition and NOT simply take the word of people who have agenda's to push. Understnd what your body is asking for when you are ill. Guest guest
I agree Clare. My Naturopath even told me yesterday when I was there being adjusted for my whiplash, that if the diet is not in place you just cannot get well. She also told my husband that when someone has been as ill as I have been for so long it might take me up to five years to get well. But that is well. Not just managed, but well. When my husband married me he lost 20 pounds just by being fed properly. He has since lost over thirty pounds and is the perfect weight. As well, before he married me he had terrible IBS. He is fine now but if he strays from our diet now the IBS comes back. Clare's information is invaluable. Thank you Clare once again. hugs, Sue From: Clare <theclaremcharris@...>Subject: You may wonder why Date: Wednesday, April 29, 2009, 1:26 AMDear Friends: You may wonder why I write so many posts / messages that are food / nutritional related. Guest guest
Ladies, you will not find me arguing with this general principle. Our diet does dictate our health (or lack thereof). Since Sunday I have been involved in helping with a family that unexpectedly found their newborn having to have emergency stomach surgery late last week. At one point I was a nursing/pumping mother with a child in hospital and in need of some good hot real food. Instead I had to settle for sandwhiches and chips for the most part. Anyway, in trying to help this mom (who is also pumping/nursing) my main concern was in seeing that she got a hot well-balanced meal at least once a day and hopefully twice a day. I try to tell her what I went through and how important nutrition is to her at this time not only because she is pumping/nursing but also because of these unique circumstances her body absolutely needs all of the nutrition it can get. Sad to say that she is still just eating cold sandwhiches on white bread (white bread---ick, we eat wheat). I feel for her as I know what she will face later on. Anyway, just my thoughts.
