Yep, they run anywhere from 69.00 Australian

currency, to 250.00. US dollars.

But I've just about settled on an 8 stage counter

top RO unit that filters fluoride.

I did a lot of research on the reverse osmosis under the sink filters, the one I liked best was at Lowe's for 150 bucks about a year ago.MarkFrom: james fry <hunter02_2002@...>Subject: Re: Getting Closeriodine Date: Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 8:10 PM

On Ebay check out KDF or Dual Media shower filters. $35.00 to your door. RO is the only thing that gets rid of florides. That's pricey. Jim

Hi Mark:)

Did they have any counter top models?

LMAO, I dunno. I have no earthly idea. Bruce and

others have already said they weren't coming to my

house if I tried out my chemistry theories. And

one wants a video of the results.

My chemistry knowledge is non existent except that

I know table salt is sodium chloride and epsom

salt is magnesium sulfate, but maybe some of the

more savvy chemistry knowin' peeps on the list

will come along shortly :D

What is the objection to having an aluminum based fluoride removal system? I wouldn't think it would matter as long as it isn't adding aluminum to the water. They have pre- and post-filtration results on the website for some of their filters. They appear to removing both the fluoride and the aluminum that was present in the unfiltered water. The levels of both are lower in the filtered water. That sounds pretty good to me, so I'm looking forward to a chemistry lesson from you, telling me why I'm wrong. :-)

I have done a ton of research in this area, and agree with the comments here.

Our choices were the CrystalQuest systems, or the Aquasana systems. We chose

Aquasana because it came out to be a little cheaper. We moved to NW of DFW in

Texas about 1.5 years ago, and the water here stinks because there is a lot of

natural gas seaping into the water. Our neighbors always tell us they hate

doing the laundry or running the dishwasher because it stinks up the whole

house. Within two weeks of living here, we installed the whole house system

from Aquasana, and no more problems. We had already been using their sink

filtering drinking water system, and tested it for contaminant removals. It did

great in KC where the water was ok. I tested it here in Texas, and it does just

as great here too. Aquasana should know about the water here in Texas, because

they are in Ft. Worth. Their systems are great, and good priced. Chris

lol.

I didn't look in detail just went mostly on always hearing there wasn't such

and those that did used aluminum and that was in the water.

They seem to also filter that out, so may be good. Interesting, good find.

Apologies

At Lowes I'm not sure, as I never ended up getting a filter after checking them all out, but I'm pretty sure that they would (or Home Depot, etc). I'm in an RV now, get well water from the guy on whose property I live, and I use a pitcher-filter (Brita) on it to clean up anything in his water. I researched the Crystal Quest and it seemed like the best thing out there, then

I read the reviews on their pitchers, in line system, etc. The customers warned

again and again to buy another system. One person had black slim coming from

one of the fittings. Also, poor customer service was a common theme. Just

trying to save you the trouble as one reviewer said.

Good to know. I haven't actually bought anything yet but I'm giving it serious consideration. I will probably at least get something for the kitchen so I can have unfluoridated water to drink and cook with. I forgot who posted the Aquasana water filter link, but they seemed pleased with them. Maybe Aquasana is a better bet. Whoever that was, can you let us know what your customer service experiences were?

I see Mercola has a filter and shower that removed fluorides-so they say

anyways
