Guest guest
I took it for almost 2 years. It is key to have it in beta carotene and fish forms - which is what that supplement is. Steph Re: When taking Iodoral I'm curious about this since my 19 year old already has a pretty bad acne problem and I'll be starting her on Iodoral within the next week. Guest guest
Acne is probably a result of detoxing. It is infection coming out your your pores on your skin. It has got to be a good thing for the infections to come out. You don't want that stuff staying in you. I know I would want it to come all out so the end result is nothing but beauty. Stick it out and I'm sure it'll get better and the end result will be clear skin. from IllinoisFrom: dawn volz <dawnv5@...>iodine Sent: Tue, December 29, 2009 2:59:17 PMSubject: Re: Re: When taking Iodoral the zinc has helped my daugher a lot....no new bumps but still has old spots to clear up...i am thinking about trying some vitamin a like stephanie mentioned but not sure yet...the iodine totally made my daughters acne show up..she never had a bump before..but in other ways she is better so i did not tell her it was iodine!! her antibodies are down and her weight is stable i feel that overall she is better.....From: pamelalv <prov31mom23@ roadrunner. com>Subject: Re: When taking Iodoraliodinegroups (DOT) comDate: Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 2:00 PM I'm curious about this since my 19 year old already has a pretty bad acne problem and I'll be starting her on Iodoral within the next week. Guest guest
Check out what's in the antibiotics (if that's her choice) because fluoride features in some of them (and MANY antidepressants)and has caused havoc for some people. (I don't take iodine) but years ago I had good success with homeopathic hepar sulp to clear skin eruptions, boils and so on...it definitely helped the liver. I think there's a link between sulphur and methylation but can't recall exactly what it is at the moment...sorry! Guest guest
Has you daughter tried 1 t. apple cider vinegar to 8 oz of water and you can add 1 t. honey, 100% maple syrup, blackstrap molasses or 4 drops of stevia. Best results are obtained doing this 3 times a day. It is used for cleansing, healing and energizing health qualities.it doesn't hurt to try.You can also get grapefruit see extract (GSE) at a health food store and take that everyday also.Good luck. from Illinois > > I'm curious about this since my 19 year old already has a pretty bad acne problem and I'll be starting her on Iodoral within the next week. Guest guest
That's a good idea- I have heard of NAET. Guest guest
An unknown concentration of vitamin C or ascorbic acid can be determined using iodine. When ascorbic acid comes into contact with iodine, the chemical reaction that occurs produces dehydroascorbic acid and iodide. A starch indicator is added to the vitamin C solution to indicate when the chemical reaction is complete. As long as there is still ascorbic acid in the solution, the iodine will react with it and become iodide. When all the ascorbic acid has reacted and become dehydroascorbic acid, the iodine will react with the starch to create a dark blue color, signaling the reaction is complete. The dehydroascorbic acid can be measured to determine the concentration of vitamin C in the original solution. When Iodine and ascorbic acid are combined in solution, a chemical reaction takes place. In this chemical reaction, the ascorbic acid molecule loses electrons, which are transferred to the iodine molecule. Chemists call this type of reaction an oxidation/reduction reaction (or redox reaction for short). The ascorbic acid is oxidized to dehydroascorbic acid, and the iodine is reduced to Iodide ions. Guest guest
From what I understand potassium iodide is colorless but elemental iodine has the color and the vitamin C changes the iodine in the lugol's to iodide. Anytime anything is stained (including skin) from iodine, vitamin C will remove the stain. So when you take liquid lugols with vitamin C you may be changing the elemental iodine to iodide, but that is the preferred form for the thyroid, from what I have read other parts of the body like the breasts & prostate like the elemental iodine so if you are taking liquid luguls for non thyroid reasons you may not want to take them right at the same time. I would think taking iodoral would be completely different since it breaks down in the intestines. I just figure my body will figure out what to do with it all anyway. I just happen to take my iodoral with breakfast and my vitamin C with dinner but not for any reason other than splitting up all the pills I take everyday. Guest guest
The chemistry here appears quite sound. This makes it quite apparent that anyone taking Lugol's or Iodoral with the intent of receiving the benefit of its iodine component, is receiving only iodide if they are also taking vitamin C. The very fact that vitamin C turns it clear is proof that it has converted the originally iodine component into the colorless iodide form. I now find it quite odd that the doctors involved in promoting Lugol's and Iodoral also insist that massive doses of vitamin C must be taken, since clearly it converts it all into iodide. If certain parts of the body actually prefer iodine, then they will not be getting it if vitamin C is being taken. > > An unknown concentration of vitamin C or ascorbic acid can be determined using iodine. > > When ascorbic acid comes into contact with iodine, the chemical reaction that occurs produces dehydroascorbic acid and iodide. Guest guest
I take 500 MG of niacin first thing in the morning to open up all my blood vessels via a good flush followed at the same time with Lugol's in water with a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. After a couple hours, I take maple syrup with bicarbonate of soda to alkalize. After an hour or so, I take my vitamins including C and feel that the time lag prevents interaction with the iodine in Lugol's. The niacin along with Lugol's is supposed to help clean out the circulatory system as well. The C and other supplements are supposed to keep the blood vessels flexible and healthy. I feel I need to add a desiccated thyroid to help my thyroid to normalize. However, I don't use mainstream medicine physicians. Any recommendations for OTC thyroid meds that work with the Lugol's? Guest guest
I'm not sure if taking vit C internally would effect a patch test but the patch test has already been found unreliable anyway. If you put some on for a patch test and then put vitamin C on top of it externally the color will disappear, so if you were to use a Vitamin C serum normally in the same area you tried to do a patch test it would take the color away. Sometimes I put iodine on my face in areas before bed and if I wake up and there is still a little staining I just wipe it over with a little vit C on a cotton pad. Guest guest
Thanks Steph, I had managed to troll through from the 700 or so posts down too about 300. Then I had no signal for a few days. Wow it's up to 700 again! I will try to put them separately. I take my Iodoral and then take my buffered C powder in another glass. Try separating them and see how you do. Steph When taking Iodoral I started my son on Iodoral yesterday and was concerned about other supplements interferring with absorption. I know that Vit. C should not be taken with it. Are there any others? Also, are there any supplements that help with absorption?I don't know if the iodoral had anything to do with it, but he slept about 12 hours last night.Thanks.
