Guest guest
This is very interesting as I have given up with Armour, deciding that I was up to 4 1/2 grains and still not feeling great and still not having symptoms of being overmedicated - guess what, mine is the same batch number! Could it be a faulty batch? Gill I had problems with new armour, and kept increasing the dose. I was just about at the end of the 100 tab container (18 left) when alerted that others were also having problems with hypo symptoms including depression returning. (Thanks Nick)The batch Number I had was 070817 EXP 12/09 ..

Good luck, if itt doesn't settle then let people on the list know and I'm sure someone can let you have a few tablets of some other Natural to try and see if that works Well done on getting the NHS to play ball, I never went through that battle and just import privately. I found someone else having trouble with that batch too. Nick

I have 2 containers if each which expire 02/10 (1 grain & 1.5 grain) batches 11780406 and 12420406 & assumed these were also old ones. I would not notice the difference as I have swallowed them for ages anyway & did not cut them up that often. Depends on the tablet size, those were 3 grain and among the first of the new. > >Still at the moment I am also just on T3, so these might go out of date before I get the chance to try them. I took some Major Thyroid USP that had been laying around for years when I had run out of all bar new formulationa and it was fine, they seem ok even a year or two out of date if they are stored at a moderate temperature. I saw someone say they kept their bulk stock in the freezer, seems a good plan and might do that with half mine (half in case it makes it worse). I'm never going to get low again and am always going to try a new batch even if I have plenty of the old left (had been using it in rotation and had 3 weeks worth left when the duff batch arrived but hadn't tried it). Looks like they have become about 18 months, batch numbers looks like they are MM/YY/serial so 070817 becomes July 2008 batch 17. This has agreed with any other batch numbers I've looked at with the expiry month changing part way through the manufacture month. It may be batch related, a lot of people are reporting problems though. Nick
Guest guest
Hi veryland - it might well be that you are suffering with low adrenal reserve or one of the other associated conditions that go along with being hypothyroid that stops you from utilising any new increases in your dose of Armour. Perhaps if you boosted your adrenals by starting a course of adrenal supplements such as 's Dynamite Adrenal or Nutri Adrenal Extra this might help. Healthy adrenals are need to help convert the mainly inactive T4 to the active T3. Otherwise, your problem could be that you are low in the reference range for one or more of the following: ferritin (stored iron), B12, Vitamin D3, Magnesium, zinc and copper. Ask your GP to check to see if any are low, and if they are, then you need to supplement whatever is low. Are you taking high dose Vitamin C such as 2/3000mgs daily? Are you taking 200mcgs Selenium daily with food. Do you have systemic candidiasis? Read the information in our web site under 'Hypothyroidism' and then under 'Associated Conditions' and if you have any questions, just shout and somebody will be along to help you. Luv - Sheila It seems to happen to me when I raise my dose. I don't have any hyper symptoms, just some aches that you described. This happens even when I really do need the increased dose. For me, it always goes away after a couple of weeks and stays away for good if I stay on the same dose for a long time. I don't think this is a hypo or hyper symptom. I just think it is my body adjusting to the new, higher dose that I need. I have heard some say it is maybe my adrenals adjusting to the new dose. No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
There are peeps who seem to be having problems, but there also appear to be lots of peeps who are not. There does appear to be more peeps on the American forums than the UK forums who are complaining of problems. We really do appear to have very few in comparison, but yes, we do have some and they are quite vociferous about the effects 9or lack of effects) with the new formulated Armour. Some people have raised their dose to compensate and others take their new Armour with a little sugar under their tongue or with some citric acid which helps - and others have changed over to Nature Throid. Anybody who is having serious problems with the new Armour must report this to the MHRA on their Yellow Card Scheme and also complain to the FDA -= otherwise, they will not be able to have a recall of certain batches and do further investigation. It is no good complaining on an Internet or local thyroid support group because we can do nothing. I have no idea what is happening but would have thought there would have been a recall if there was a problem, but we will just have to wait and see. Luv - Sheila Lots of peeps seem to be having lots of trouble on the new armour, I don't take it so I don't know. However how is your Vit D status also? I ask because the deficiency mimics low thyroid too..''back to the pains leg cramps, knee joints and feeling shattered.'' lotsa luv Dawnx No virus found in this incoming message.
