are they the same thing? i'm reading that the kind they put in your veins can cause temporary kidney damage and that you should not be taking metformin within 48 hours of taking the iodine and up to 48 hours after taking the iodine - should i not be taking my metformin with my iodoral?

Not the same at all! The injectable can be very toxic to many people because it contains a chemical dye and god knows what else, many people who have an allergic reaction to the dye think they are allergic to iodine because there are so many doctors that believe that as well. My mom is allergic to the dye but takes iodoral daily, Iodoral is just lugal's solution in pill form and does not cause any damage to the body. Steph has said that some people who are detoxing large amounts of bromide may stress the kidneys or liver if they are not using the companion nutrients but that is with large iodoral doses and really bromide toxic people who are pushing the envelope I believe. Steph said she was going on vacation so if I am not recalling this correctly someone please jump in.

I had an MRI last year and they used a different contrasting agent than iodine

or metformin. It was gadnolinium. This is a rare metal element. I knew

nothing about any of this. The MRI was done first without contrast agent. Then

they released the contrast into me via an IV. I could feel it go through my

body and taste a metallic taste in my mouth. When the procedure was finished

and I was dressing, I saw that my whole body was covered with red blotchy rash.

That faded quickly. The next several days were terrible because the gadnolinium

wiped out my kidneys. I was in pain and very sick. My alternative medicine doc

saved me. There are people who lose their kidneys with these contrasting

agents. There have been deaths. I think I was lucky. When you arrive for the

procedure, they gave me a paper to sign. It said that people who have kidney

disease may have adverse affects from the contrasting agent, gadnolinium. But I

had healthy kidneys so thought nothing of signing this release. Now I know a

lot more about it and won't do it again.
