Wow!! Talk about a lot in one message.

The best thing I can suggest for you is to get Dr. Cabot's book " The Liver

Cleansing Diet " . She has a lot of information on what you can eat, not to

forget too, she will help you have a much better understanding of what's

happing with the liver and the gallbladder.

Regarding your beets it's great to get but don't try to get so much at one

time. I get mine in a juice drink consisting of 1/4 of a beet, 1/2 of an

unpeeled lemon, 2 celery sticks, 1 oz of parsley, and the rest as carrot

juice in a 24 oz glass. It's really not necessary to get much more than that

in one sitting. In fact for some it can pretty well cause quite a crash of

their system for the liver to have to do so much at one time. A whole beet

is borderline regarding an overage of beet juice.

You will be finding that foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids are going to be

able to do you the best good. You should also consider supplementing enzyme

intake too with a broad coverage of enzymes and get taurine along with

lecithin to get your bile salts more fluid.

You might take a look at the plan Dr Cabot has at www.liverdoctor.com

Hi ,

I have learned a lot about nutrition since I last was nursing which would have supplied me with more nutrients and less calories which I could have done without.

I find a teaspoon of powdered Spirulina with 1/2 teaspoon of brewers or Selenium yeast and 1/4 teaspoon of Vitamin C with bioflavonioids powder, in some fresh or bottled juice gives me a real energy boost. It is an all natural, liquid, vitamin pill which being liquid, goes straight to your cells.

Any freshly prepared juice has heaps of nutrition and calories.

For calcium, which I think you would be craving, you can have whole bean soy foods, like, tofu, soy milk and soy powder. Chick Peas and Spinach, Parsley and Silver Beet also contain a lot of absorbable calcium. Because dairy foods have been pasteurised, it is hard for their calcium to be digested properly leading to calcified arteries and bile ducts.

I eat brown rice, soy pasta, oats, multigrain seed bread and rolls, potatos and any vegetable or bean on offer.

Here are 2 recipes which I have found to be anti gallstone, yet delicious and filling:

Hello,I was on this list briefly last summer, then got off, and am now going to get back on. I had my son, had my first ever attack, wasn't diagnosed for almost a year (my MD prescribed zantac for reflux!). Finally went to the ER during an attack, and they diagnosed it right. I definitely agree. It's healthy for anyone, and they can eat the rest of

their life on it and remain healthy. She has one of the best diets out that

I've ever studied and been on. And it's healthy for your GB. If a person

follows her diet, they won't get GB attacks.

Hi folks!

Sorry about the phantom recipes that never appeared!

I still don't know all the ins an outs of this computer and my computer just sent this unfinished message out of my outbox. I'm glad I didn't put anything rude in there!

I hadn't had time to detail the recipes for you yet Amy, but I will if you still would like.

The main thing I do to stop further attacks, is take small doses of lemon juice and cold pressed oil during the day, drink herb teas such as Horsetail especially, and with my diet, I just make sure that I only use unprocessed oils (being cold pressed), dairy foods (non pasteurised), and whole food products. I still don't know whether you can cook with cold pressed oils. I'm still trying to find this question out. (Although I can obtain unpasteurised dairy products where I live, I still haven't been game to add them back into my diet yet so I'm still eating vegan though I have just started eating eggs again because they are an unprocessed food).

Cheers!

Thanks for the info le! I would love to see your recipes. The

hardest part for me right now is fighting the urge to eat; it's even

greater now nursing than while pregnant! I need food that gives me

texture and bulk to help me feel full (the kind of full you get after

protein, not salad! ;).

Thanks for your help,

Amy

Hi Amy!

This first recipe is only suitable if you have a Homogenizer Machine like a Champion Juicer. This greatly satisfied my urge for cooling icecream during the hot weather.

2 1/2 Cups unpasteurised Apple Juice

2 tbls Lecithin Granules

3 tbls of Soy Milk Powder

Pour this premixed mixture into a plastic rectangular box suitable for cutting the frozen mixture into bars. Freeze till hard. Cut into bars and store in freezer bag in freezer until ready to use. Feed a few bars through the 'throat' of your homogenizer and enjoy.

************************************************************************************

This next recipe is my favorite for energy, and warming the cockles of my heart in a nutritious, safe way.

Get a large enamel pot with a lid.

Put an inch of water in the bottom and boil - with:

A good shake of Mustard Seeds,

A good shake of Turmeric (derived from Curcumin, a known gallstone dissolver)

A good shake of Cayenne Pepper,

A good shake of Coriander Powder:

Natural, unrefined sea salt, to taste. (add it last if you like)

Cube half a packet of tofu, (always store left over tofu covered in water in the fridge in a lidded container),

1/2 a packet of chick peas (along with the tofu, a great source of calcium),

and add to the now simmering spices. Add more water to just cover your simmering concoction.

While this is simmering, get the chopping board out and all your delicious vegetables and start chopping. (I've recently discovered how delicious and healing, 'birds eye chillies' are chopped, seeds and all, into the stew). Add your vegies, near to the top and continue to simmer with water about half way up the vegetable concoction, with the lid on, until every thing is cooked through - about 20 minutes!

Serve this with hot wholemeal cooked pasta, brown rice or just by itself - quite filling if one of your vegies is potato.

And don't forget to drizzle plenty of cold pressed yummy oil of your choice on top to give you plenty of calories and energy and unrefined sea salt to taste!

Enjoy!

(Any presoaked bean can be used in place of the chick peas or/and tofu, I just chose those because they are chock full of absorbable calcium).
