Guest guest
Hi Hunter, I recommend you look up Burning Mouth Syndrome in a Merck Manual. Deficiencies of vitamins, including B12, folic acid, and B-complex, can cause burning mouth syndrome. Iron deficiency has also been implicated. If the patient is a woman, you have to wonder if she is postmenopausal too, because irregularities in hormone levels may be suspect as well. Good luck! Kate Alie, M.S., R.D., L.D. Guest guest
I had this but it was after RAI and then I got it again when I had an amalgam filling put in my mouth. It didn't stop until recently after chelating for mercury (Post removal of 11 fillings). I was told it was a B5 /B6 deficiency too. I get it off and on now but it is not constant like it was for a few years. Steph burning tongue? I stopped my Iodoral and all other supplements for a few days, since we were traveling and it was difficult to remember to take them on time. I think it's been almost a full week as of today that I have taken nothing at all other than my Armour. Well, yesterday my tongue started burning, it feels as if I scalded it with hot tea or something like that. Yesterday it was just the edges and I was sure I had just burned it and didn't remember. Today it's the whole tongue and I am pretty frustrated as time goes on and it's no better. I looked up all I could find on the web and it looks like besides diabetes and immune dysfunction, it could be caused by B2 deficiency, B12 deficiency, etc. Today I took the Iodoral and ATP cofactors just to see if that made a difference, it hasn't so far. I don't have any other symptoms, no redness, etc. so I don't think it's thrush. But I just don't know! I wonder if this is related to taking iodine or not?Has anyone had similar problems and if so, what did you do? Any and all comments or advice are welcome!Laua
Guest guest
I get this every now and then. It has been said to be intestinal yeast infection which also may be caused by heavy metals. It is definitely related to a toxic bowel. If you do the Master Cleanse the tongue will do this as well and you are detoxing the bowel at this time. lpiwowarski wrote: > > I stopped my Iodoral and all other supplements for a few days, since we > were traveling and it was difficult to remember to take them on time. Guest guest
Are you taking a good probiotic to keep the good re-populated. That may help big time. You can often tell real quick that they are working. lpiwowarski wrote: > > > > I wonder if going off of the Iodoral would have allowed yeast to > re-grow? Guest guest
I may have just found out the cause of all this. I chewed some gum a few days ago, not knowing that it contained aspartame. Apparently now even " regular " gum has aspartame in it. G Murray wrote: > > Are you taking a good probiotic to keep the good re-populated. That may > help big time. Guest guest
because if it was a true allergy, she 'd have hives. usually the mucous membranes are quick to turn over esp. in mouth be cause of eating , drinking, cells slough off. typically a red And it will be red) tongue is a riboflavin def. and this comes from with in the body. so it could have been going on along on the iodoral/iodine as that may have been driving things out quicker, so by stopping (which may not have been problem here) it all comes out at once, or gets stuck. imo, linda rn * Re: burning tongue?>> I may have just found out the cause of all this. Guest guest
Thanks, Steph and G Murray for the responses. I doubt I will ever be able to get my fillings removed and chelate for mercury. Besides being a big ninny in the dentist's chair, I don't think I can afford it. I'm in the middle of a detox right now, and also starting all over with being gluten free after a vacation and many indiscretions. Which probably also had a role in this. This is day 3 of this burning and I'm so tired of it. I wonder if going off of the Iodoral would have allowed yeast to re-grow? Doesn't iodine help keep yeast at bay? ladybugsandbees wrote: > > I had this but it was after RAI and then I got it again when I had an > amalgam filling put in my mouth.
