Craig,I appreciate the research you did for me :-). I like that oxygen product - it looks like a safe, even healthful product to use for water purification! *I'm still interested in finding a pure source of iodine for water purification (other than Lugol's liquid b/c of my stomach issue)* But I'm definitely going to get this oxygen product for traveling... Hi Marlena,

Yes, I am aware that the chlorine isn't good for you, but that military

system is probably the most effective at getting the junk out...and if I

had to choose a bit of chlorine vs the alternative, I'll take a bit of

chlorine. But then I am not going to India and don't have to make that

choice:)

google Potable Aqua Iodine. It's iodine tablets for campers to purify

water. Walmarts and Dicks Sporting has it.

I've never used it but I found it a while back looking for other

iodine products.

They talk about Tri-Quench a lot over at the VitaminK group. It

gets a lot of good press - it is only a version the Potassium Iodide

form though with no Iodine.

Approximately 25 mg of Potassium Iodide (SSKI)

19 mg as Iodine

Other ingredients:

Saffron extract (Crocus sativa), Distilled water.

Interesting - that's the first time I've heard there was anything apart

from Potassium Iodide in it. I don't know how the maths happens on

exactly how much of what is in it - but very strangely when I was at

work on the day after this was posted I was talking about iodine with an

aromatherapist whose thyroid area looked lumpy. She told me she'd been

craving Saffron lately and when she used it she could smell iodine in

it.
