Guest guest
Craig,I appreciate the research you did for me :-). I like that oxygen product - it looks like a safe, even healthful product to use for water purification! *I'm still interested in finding a pure source of iodine for water purification (other than Lugol's liquid b/c of my stomach issue)* But I'm definitely going to get this oxygen product for traveling... FYI: The military tablets from the first link have chlorine in them - which is pretty bad for health.Thx again,Marlena>> Hi Marlena,> > http://www.campingsurvival.com/milwatpurtab.html> > http://www.baproducts.com/aerobic.htm> > I found these by searching for 'water purification tablets' and there > are more.> > Kind regards,> > Craig> > > > I didn't hear any replies to my post - If nobody has any feedback for > > me I totally understand but just in case it got missed - here it is > > again, rephrased:> >> > *Is there anyone else out there who got stomach irritation from using > > Lugol's liquid? Guest guest
Hi Marlena, Yes, I am aware that the chlorine isn't good for you, but that military system is probably the most effective at getting the junk out...and if I had to choose a bit of chlorine vs the alternative, I'll take a bit of chlorine. But then I am not going to India and don't have to make that choice:) Keep well, Craig marlenaappletree wrote: > > Craig, > > I appreciate the research you did for me :-). Guest guest
I have heard Dr. talk about this: www.tahomaclinic.com/iodide.shtml - *Do any of them work for water purification (for traveling > abroad for instance)? Guest guest
Thank you , this is helpful! Is anyone out there familiar with the product from Dr. 's Tahoma Clinic, called Tri-Quench? It is SSKI and he says it works for water purification and as an iodine supplement in general. Guest guest
Marlena... google Potable Aqua Iodine. It's iodine tablets for campers to purify water. Walmarts and Dicks Sporting has it. I've never used it but I found it a while back looking for other iodine products. They talk about Tri-Quench a lot over at the VitaminK group. It gets a lot of good press - it is only a version the Potassium Iodide form though with no Iodine. Gail. Guest guest
That is great to know - thank you!But I am confused because this is what it says about Tri-Quench on the Tahoma website:Each drop provides: Approximately 25 mg of Potassium Iodide (SSKI) 19 mg as Iodine Other ingredients: Saffron extract (Crocus sativa), Distilled water. Marlena Interesting - that's the first time I've heard there was anything apart from Potassium Iodide in it. I don't know how the maths happens on exactly how much of what is in it - but very strangely when I was at work on the day after this was posted I was talking about iodine with an aromatherapist whose thyroid area looked lumpy. She told me she'd been craving Saffron lately and when she used it she could smell iodine in it. Gail
