Guest guest
we studied the subject ,but you should not do it if you have adrenal fatigue > > I'm not sure if this is off topic, but has anyone used a portable infared sauna at home to detoxify? If so, did it make a difference in how you felt (better or worse)? Does it really work? My holistic doctor has recommended that to me as an option to detoxify as I am very toxic, especially in bromide. The link she sent me reminded me of a scene from a Woody movie. You zip yourself into it. > > Does anyone have an infared sauna they can recommend that is not overly expensive? > > Thanks. > Laurie >
Guest guest
I made my own out of infrared 250 watt heat lamps and use it once or twice a week for about 20 minutes--usually after excercising. I think it helps a little. It is actually a good cardio as the quick heat up and sweating will cause pulse to increase. > > > > I'm not sure if > this is off topic, but has anyone used a portable infared sauna at home to > detoxify? Guest guest
Laurie, I would recommend the Far Infrared over the near infrared for these reasons, as found on, http://www.RadiantHealthEffects.com/FarInfraredWhatIsIt.htm When near infrared (NIR) waves heat organic substances the surface gets hotter than the interior, and the interior gets heated by conduction from the surface. By contrast, far infrared (FIR) penetrates deeply with a very uniform warming effect. One of the reasons FIR has beneficial results in a variety of illnesses is the ability of FIR waves to remove toxins, which are often at the core of many health problems. Numerous toxins are stored in our bodies. Toxic gases may be encapsulated by clusters of water. Where these toxins are accumulated, blood circulation is blocked and cellular energy is impaired. When a 10 micron FIR wave is applied to these large water molecules, the water begins to vibrate, which reduces the ion bonds of the atoms which are holding together the molecules of water. As the breakdown of the water molecules occurs, encapsulated gases and other toxic materials are released. A 1999 publication by Dr. Horwitz strongly suggests that Far Infrared produces nitric oxide gas, which aided in the recovery of the five patients in a study, who could not get healing conventionally. They had various diabetic problems and were not able to heal, but they received the nitric oxide technology produced by the FIR, and healing took place for all of them. Dr. Tate, DDS, says, "The FIR produces a wave length that is identical to the body's own wave length by body heat, and that is at the 8-to-10 micron levels, so it is safe." Hope this helps in making your decision,
Guest guest
I can only give anecdotal information but my FIR sauna has been wonderful for me. I have low adrenals too but I don't need the temp above 115 F so I do fine. My 14 yr old cat was on her last leg and demanded to come in with me much to my surprise, now she is 18. My sauna has no off gassing from the wood and I researched alot before I settled on the one I bought but it is expensive. I just don't think FIR is ass bad as Dr makes it sound, BTW I only use it about 3x a week and Sept thru April. Guest guest
Can you tell me why I should not use a sauna with adrenal fatigue? Or, point me to some research stating this rationale? Thanks. Guest guest
Thanks for the link. I read this article prior to writing to the group as I was researching it. I cannot afford a sauna that big and don't have the space for it either. That's why I was looking into the portable/foldable ones. They seem to have the carbon fiber heaters which I understand is suppose to be better than ceramic. I'm still undecided at this point. Guest guest
Karin,I've been researching saunas as well and would appreciate finding out where you bought yours and what the brand was. We are saving up to buy one and really appreciate referals from people who have had good success with them. Feel free to post me offline. Many thanks,Jack*****************************************Re: questions on detoxing using an infared sauna I can only give anecdotal information but my FIR sauna has been wonderful for me.
