So what did you do about it? My ferritin is already low (in range but low) and it makes me really nervous to even try iodine. Is there a protocol that protects that while taking iodine? Thanks, Amy

I don't take selenium and my levels dropped.

You need to check out a dr. who does weight loss because chances are no one is going to advertise that they use hcg for thyroid correction. I know of a dr. who uses it on men with low testosterone but he won't use it on women as it's an infertility drug. kinoko

That is not the protocol outlined by Dr. Simeon. There are some that think they can "improve" it but the original protocol is 500 calories with specific foods. If you want the electronic copy of the book Pounds and Inches I can e-mail it to you privately so you can see the protocol.

Long term will be the tell tale sign. If she can maintain it off or not. I'd be interested. The group I belonged to did not have success unless they stuck to the original plan. 500 calories isn't hard to do. If done right you have no hunger at all.

Yes - it works because you are burning calories from fat. You are getting about 2,500 calories a day. I had no problem after 2 days.

what is hcg, please?

I believe iet is human chorionic gonadatropin and is extracted from pregnant women's urine. Sounds a bit weird, no?

All I can speak to is how I began taking it and that was because I took iron and could not get my levels of Ferritin up. My iron would be high but it was not storing it.

I have just added B6 to my diet...my naturopath told me I needed it. With B's I'm always reluctant to supplement them individually, thinking they can't really do their job unless they are surrounded by the rest of the B's. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks.

I don't have a thyroid. I didn't do it to normalize thyroid levels because Armour did that for me.
