Guest guest
Ester C is a milder form of Vit C (has bioflavinoids). You can try that. Guest guest
I used those Vit C packets when I had my amalgam fillings removed. It is what my holistic dentist uses. It is nasty tasting and since it is a lipid it is kind of jelly / oil like. Each Packet is 1,000 mgs. The problem is that it is $40 for 30 packets and you would need to do 2-3 packets a day according to the iodine protocol which would make it VERY pricey for supplementing. Guest guest
Yes that is a point but I wonder how you would *prove* that. Re: help - vit C troubles... In a message dated 5/15/2009 8:34:10 A.M. Guest guest
Your bladder could be getting irritated due to acid if you're taking ascorbic acid, you could get a form that's not acid, such as Ester-C or calcium ascorbate. Because it's more inexpensive, I get ascorbic acid crystals but I convert this to sodium ascorbate by mixing it with half the amount of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in about 2 oz. of water. But there's other things than can cause acid to build up such as eating acid forming foods (sugar, excess carbs, some meats, etc.). Also, having Candida/fungus overgrowth will release uric acid into our bloodstream, I've had that problem which began giving me gout. Through online research I found out either sodium bicarbonate or potassium citrate tablets will help alkalize the body, and this has been of great help to me. You may want to buy pH measuring strips to monitor the acid in your urine, you can probably obtain these in a healthfood store. Enzymedica is a brand that makes them (I got them on the internet from the company I normally order my supplements). Be mindful also that taking more than 2,000 mg. of Vit. C a day can cause loss of copper. Some people believe you cannot "overdose" on Vit. C but I say that kind of thinking is ridiculous, one can overdose even with water, besides it's simply NOT natural to take any nutrient in large amounts regularly, it's only justified therapeutically for a limited period of time.>> i have interstitial cystits - basically that means that with certain foods i eat, it inflames the lining of my bladder - so, i have found that my biggest trigger is aspartame and i've had no aspartame for over 4 months now and i've not had one single flare up - but now all of a sudden i've had a flare up (and they usually takes weeks to calm down) - > i'm worried that the Vit C i've been taking to help with the iodine is bothering me - is there an alternative? even in supplement form it still has the acid in it, right? i'm freaking out a bit here - if i can't take the C, then how can the iodine help me??> > tanya>
Guest guest
Hi, I use Alacers EmergenC online at vitacost but I know our local Walmart sells it also, just not the flavorless 1 I use!! They have diff flavors, we however opt for the Lite version with 1,000 mg of MSM, no sugar & trace b complexes....it is in ascorbate (sp?) form & you can take LOADS of it with no side effects or bathroom emergencies!! iT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FORMULAED ACCORDING TO lINUS pAULING'S RESEACH--- It is in the $10.00 range for 36 packets (it's fizzy) the flavored ones are delish, the plain one I use is slightly tart, I mix it with my stevia sweetened calcium/mag supplement, The flavored ones are only 5 calories so they are not LOADED with sugars either. Hope this helps a bit! terry in TN In iodine , " ladybugsandbees " <ladybugsandbees@...> wrote: > > I used those Vit C packets when I had my amalgam fillings removed.
