Whenever I get either sticky or stinging eyes, I put a few drops of Lugols in

water and wipe my eyes during the day with this solution. Hope this helps

I've read some studies about using iodine for some eye diseases(pink eye was

one) but havent quite had the nerve to put it in my eyes! I dont have any eye

problems other than hardening of the eyeballs, which is what you get when you

get OLD, which took away my perfect vision, so had actually wondered if it would

help that!

I seem to have chronic pink eye these days...but I don't have the nerve to put iodine in my eyes. I do use colloidal silver, however, and it works pretty well.

Cheryl, It's better to use 10 ppm colloidal silver to spray into your eyes: it

does not stain like iodine. My wife and I have not had any eye problems for

years since we purchased a colloidal silver generator and sprayed our eyes when

they became irritated.

When I first joined this forum, I read a post I think by who said that

her eyes had corrected themselves after 2 years on the iodine protocol (plus

other vits & supps). My eyes have gradually become long sighted after perfect

vision so I understand the frustration. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I

can reverse this too.

100 years ago iodine was used for a lot of different ailments that we would not

consider today. As well as using a diluted solution (which does not stain) for

my eyes, I sometimes gargle with it if I suspect a sore throat. I also

sometimes use the solution as a toner for my face. The proof is in the pudding

- my husband cannot believe how good my skin looks

Well, I had!! Yesterday my eyes were irritated all day long (not so

common for me this days, after I started to take 50mg of Lugol). When

came home, I put 3 drops of Lugol 5% on a bowel with water, and washed

my eyes with it. Unbelievable and instant relief!! , thank you

very much!

Thanks, . I take a lot of vitamin D. I tried the salt water idea and for the moment that seems to have helped.

Just want to say that I think it is more important in what you put into your

body ie the iodine protocol and supps which can be good for your eye health.

The iodine solution is really for soothing sticky or stinging eyes.

I agree it is important what we put IN out body but I tend to also think its

important to put it ON the body :-)

I think of it this way, Iodine that is ingested must go thru a fairly long

journey before it reaches certain destinations. Along the way many receptors

grab what they can, possibly leaving none for far off places.

And this is why its more logical to me to use the skin to have more coverage.

Going thru skin, or mouth, nose or eye(where the damage is) the tissues and

blood vessels absorb it at point of origin and kill virus and bacteria as well

as being captured by iodine loving cells at that point of origin. And some of

those really far off places only fed by tiny capilaries might never get Iodine

that was already used up by the thyroid, breast, or other body parts along the

way.

Even with saturation I'm not sure the furthest parts will actually get enough in

the face of damage or disease.

And why i put it everywhere.

Some of you are very confident with iodine! I am still using with caution!

I don't have any sort of eye infection. They just sting and have done for years.

Certain things make it worse and I think is yeast/mould and chemical

sensitivityies. They are awful when the farmers here spread manure! Its

miserable. You just want to close thema ll the time. I saw once that this can be

a symptom of hypo t.

However our dog has mucky eyes at the moment so I am using a weak (Celtic) salt

water/iodine eye solution to bathe so will let you know if it helps!

I've been using iodine to paint on the area of my bladder which has dried the skin a lot.

You say you use it all over, do you use it on your face and arms too? The area of my bladder was

really dry and scaly I would want to use it on my face for that to happen.

Iodine can be corosive if applied to the skin or anywhere that doesnt have

mucous membranes. I use coconut oil on my skin and probably why it doesnt dry it

out. Coconut oil is very good for many things if you dont already use it. Most

good lotions would probably help too.

Putting it on after the shower works really well, soaks it right up. Yes its for

cooking, i do use a different tub for cooking and " lotion " so i dont accidently

contaminate food.

The tub lasts a long time for the lotion, not so long for eating.

Its good stuff.

Are you using any bleach products , my eyes burned badly from dawn and bleach

which make chlorine gas that burns eyes ( chlorine in Chlorox and ammonia in

dawn make chlorine gas)

... or is it somthing else, could it be the burner bug , it never got in my eyes,

some bugs did , I wiped on betadine on the lids slowly for 5 minutes , the

nrinsed well , not getting any into the eyeballs ( it burns) and it saturated

into the skin and killed it in 5 min,

somtimes , rarely I had to do it the next day , it is painless and worked fast

Hi D,

It doesn't get any worse than having them in the eyes. Bill's idea about rubbing

iodine around the eyes helped me out a lot. I am also using Rita's idea and

rubbing Cortisone 10 in my eyebrows and plan to experiment with some of the

other suggestions too. As someone else here said they don't like a sterile

environment. I know what you mean about the weathered skin too. My skin is

totally dried out from dry air and mites and who knows what. I know for myself

I've probably been over washing and over scrubbing so now I've cut back to one

shower a day. A couple nights ago the itching was so painful I scratched till it

bled. In the past I could scratch my skin and it wouldn't tear like this. D, if

you had dry skin before the bugs took over you should take it easy on the soap

and bathing. It dries the skin out because it strips off the natural oils.

Thanks for the suggestion re: rubbing Cortisone 10 in the eyebrows.

Until I get the oil treatment going, I'm forced to wash at least twice a day.

Otherwise I'm eaten alive.

And even though I'm not a clean freak, I somehow managed to wash the bathroom

and kitchen tonight. The build-up from all the spraying had layers and layers of

gunk built up.

Hi Diane,

I didnt have stinging eyes. A few of the other posts were from people that did.

My problem was age related vision problems. Cant see close up anymore! I have

done the very diluted drops in the eyes. And i still need glasses. Only been a

short while tho!

I would think stinging eyes would benefit from an iodine wash. (approx 4oz water

3 drops iodine is what i been using) Very diluted. It doesnt hurt. Feels rather

good similiar to how regular eye drops feel to irritated dry eyes. Never put

full strength Lugols into eyes.

Hi

It was me that put post about stinging eyes. I think this is common in hypot? It

makes life very miserable.

I have MCS so they sting a lot as so many things affect it inc certain

supplements. Always worse in wet weather.

It was particularly bad when I posted. I have now discovered what it was (well

nearly!) We had brought some newly cut logs indoors which were drying out in

lounge. It was either the resin from the wood or mould.It was also that that was

giving a twitching eyelid as I kept rubbing them.I know mould affects me as it

is terrible when the farmers spread manure and baking bread also does it. Since

taking the logs out it got much better.

Thank you. I may try the Lugols iodine wash. What do others think? My mother has

glaucoma & I feel she has always been iodine def.

Diane, Cheryl and whoever is having problems with their eyes,

A friend of mine bought a product called "Power Eyes" and told me that she is truly amazed at how her eyes feel after only a couple times using them.

She went on to tell me about her problem she had since she was younger, she is now in her 60's, she always had trouble with her eyes when in any type of store, within 5 minutes of entering the store her eyes would become red and stingy.

She told me that the problem is solved using the Power Eyes.

Because of her experience, I bought a pair to see if my crows feet will lessen around my eyes, my pair came in last night, tried it for 15 minutes, it massages all around the eyes, I like it.

I have had stinging, red eyes for years. I was under the impression that it was caused by fungus that caused inflammation. I had been putting flax seed oil in them, to no avail. Last night, I put coconut oil in them and they are much better today. I will continue with the coconut oil as it is anti fungal.
