Guest guest
Metallic taste is bromide detoxing. It is not too much iodine. Please do not listen to others on the group that have not done the research. Having had breast cancer it is too important not to do your own follow up research on things that are said here. Lynne Farrow has researched this many hours and came up with bromide toxicity symptoms too www.breastcancerchoices.org . Many good links here on bromism. http://www.curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=850602 You need to keep pushing the iodine and try to get to at least 50 mgs. People with major health issues Dr. Brownstein and Dr Abraham are now saying need 50-100 mgs. enough iodine? Since I had BC three years ago, I have been taking 37.5 to 50 mg iodine since June. I had to reduce the dose when the detox symptoms were not mitigated by salt flushing. I did find that adding 1/4 tsp bentonite to the salt helped. I had a loading test in October of 74%. Don't know where I started. Now I have finally figured out the strange taste in my mouth. I though it was HC, but then realized it was metallic. So I must be taking too much iodine. Don't know how much to take if any in the future.Dorothy

It is so important for those of us that have had cancer. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Steph Re: enough iodine? > Metallic taste is bromide detoxing. It is not too much iodine.Thank you . Guest guest
Steph....please help. I just finished Dr. B's new 4th edition of his Iodine book, and on pg 224, he discusses iodism, which " occurs when the dose of iodine is too high and results in a metallic taste in the mouth.... " How do we know if it could be this or bromide detox? I too have a lot of metallic taste in my mouth which sometimes decreases during the day. After your previous post (digest 2827) to me I was tempted to raise my iodoral, but after reading about iodism I was wondering if I should reduce my iodoral since my recent saturation was 91% (from 89.6% 6 months ago), but then, as I had mentioned, my bromide excretion only went from 20.7mg to 19.3mg within the last 6 months. With the bromide results I really do not want to cut down on iodine (25mg now), but then I don't want to overdose on it either. Thanks. V > > Metallic taste is bromide detoxing. Guest guest
For the past many years I have had metallic taste in my mouth and attributed it to mercury. I also get the burnt tongue experience which sometimes leaves a metallic taste as well and I attribute that to yeast/toxic bowel. I did not notice this when I was on the iodine though. The only detox symptoms I noticed were intense headache on the top of my head and intense constipation. For one that normally has diarrhea from gallbladder removal this was a new experience. I used detoxified iodine at 5-8 drops twice a day. I now have Lugols 5%. I will start using that when I get my results from the pathologist. I am now starting to wonder if the bromide is in my drinking water. Last summer the water was a horrid taste, smell, color and the head water treatment guy said he would just add more chemicals to fix that problem. That scared the bejebes out of me and I have since been bringing in 3X's R.O. ozonated water to drink(non-town source). This has been tested at 4ppm of total dissolved solids (normal town water is over 550ppm). I am thinking that something has changed in the last few years as there has been many just at my work place alone that has had thyroid problems. maribob7 wrote: > > Steph....please help. Guest guest
just in case some folks don't know , most breads, cereals , cake mixes on the market use bromonated oils, iodine etc. linda rn Re: Re: enough iodine? Guest guest
I too have had a mercury problem in the past. I had all my amalgams removed 5 years ago, and followed Cutler's protocol for mercury detox. This metallic taste has just started to occur since taking Iodoral. I have notiaced very loose stools on occasion, but I also have Celiac disease and recently found out a restaurant we go to quite often, warms their veggies in their pasta water...not good for celiacs...ugh... I also have terrible joint problems but there again I have Lyme disease and my lyme doctor thinks I have lyme autoimmune arthritis from having undiagnosed Lyme for the last 35 years. That seems to be getting worse. Along with hashimoto's I have autoimmune written all over me. I was hoping iodine would help, but so far haven't noticed much for the better. We also installed a carbon water filter system for our whole condo, plus I had an RO filter put under the kitchen sink and connectd to our fridge to get rid of all the toxic stuff in our drinking water. I need to keep taking iodoral, but am waiting to see if Steph responds to my post. V > > > > > > Metallic taste is bromide detoxing.
