Guest guest
Copied as fair use from HIFA. Vijay ------------------------------------ Dear HIFA2015 colleagues, Greetings from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso!!! We have just started the 12th biennial Congress of AHILA, the Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa... This is a special message to all HIFA2015 and AHILA members who are *not* in Ouagadougou! We would like to invite you to join us by web conference on Wednesday 13 October for 1 hour, starting at 12 noon local time. All you need is a computer with an internet connection, microphone and speakers - ideally, we recommend you to use a headset. We are very grateful to HIFA2015 member Professor Cook and colleagues at the University of Iowa (USA) for their in-kind support by providing complimentary web conferencing facilities for us. We shall meet on the internet in the *HIFA2015 Virtual Room*. This is accessible to you now! We strongly recommend you enter the HIFA2015 Virtual Room now to ensure that you are ready to participate actively in the conference. Here is what you need to do to prepare for the web conference: 1. Go to: https://globalcampus.uiowa.edu/join_meeting.html?meetingId=1262299208094 2. Type in the two fields marked with an asterisk * - your email address - your name and country (there is no need for a password) For example: vilanculosf@... Flatiel Vilanculos (Mozambique) 3. Press 'Enter'. Say 'Yes' to allow your computer to download the Elluminate software. This will take only a minute or two. For most people, there will be no problem to download the software. If your system firewall does not allow this, ask your IT administrator for help. 4. When the software is downloaded a box will appear to invite you to Run or Cancel. Click 'Run' and you will be taken straight to the HIFA2015 Virtual Room. 5. When you are in the HIFA2015 Virtual Room, go to Tools - - Audio - - Audio SetUp.Wizard. Follow the instructions to make sure that your microphone and headphone/loudspeakers are functioning OK and at a comfortable volume. When you have done this, you're ready! If you have any problems, consult the Elluminate website: www.elluminate.com 6. WEDNESDAY 13TH OCTOBER, 12 NOON LOCAL TIME 12 NOON Ouagadougou 1 PM London 3 PM Nairobi 7. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the web conference. 8. During the web conference, only one person can speak at one time. If you would like to speak, then you can indicate this by clicking on the square button half-way down on the left side of the screen (the button contains a hand and a green arrow). This will indicate to the chair (Neil Pakenham-Walsh) that you want to speak, and he will give you the 'virtual microphone' next. When you hear that it is your turn to speak, click on the microphone icon (bottom left of screen). When you are finished, click it again to turn it off so that the next person can use it. 9. The speakers will include: Flatiel Vilanculos (Secretary-General, AHILA) Pascal Mouhouelo (Reference Librarian, WHO AFRO) Isabelle Wachsmuth-Huguet (Evidence for Informed Policy-Making Network, WHO Geneva) Neil Pakenham-Walsh (Coordinator, HIFA2015) ... and *YOU*! Each speaker will spend a few minutes to describe current status and future plans for HIFA2015, AHILA and WHO AFRO. We shall report on highlights of the AHILA Congress to date, including the launch of HIFA-EVIPNet-French - the new forum to promote evidence-informed policy making for health in French-speaking countries in Africa. 10.
